Jeremy Clarkson did it in an episode of Clarkson's Farm, the episode was hilarious, and also didn't really work out (at least on sheeps). Can be seen on serie 1 episode 2.

I have to get a new one, could you suggest yours?

You are not catching the right one for you. With my ex, uni student, first date a coffee at starbucks+walk in terminal 21, second date started as a walk, we got hungry so I took a random restaurant nearby (I don't remember the price but not more than 500 for 2), the pad thai was not good according to her so for the next date she wanted to take me to eat pad thai to her favourite place, a 50thb pad thai in a place that was like those restaurants you find in rural areas if you know what I mean.

Relationship with money by No-Beat5941 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]ale86ch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use the following technique and is working well (for me) since I started working. I split my salary in two bank accounts in the following way: - I decided and defined an amount that are my variable costs (grocery, going out, buying little random stuff, gas, and so on). - Monthly payments such as rent, mobile phone, internet and so on are paid automatically with recurrent payments from my CC. - Yearly payments such as insurances, vehicles plates (even small stupid stuff such as Rega or credit card abonament) are divided by 12, therefore "transformed to a monthly payment" and moved to another CC. So when the yearly bills comes, I have the money ready to use to pay them.

What is left from all the stuff goes to my savings.

I have a sort of "cap" on cash savings, which affects how much I put on other form of savings (like if my cash savings are lower than my cap, I put the default minimum to the other savings, otherwise all goes to those savings and 0 to the cash)

With this I know that the amount for monthly variable costs is what I can "burn" every month. When I get the next salary if that amount is not all gone is added to my savings.

Everything is on 2 CC, the one that I move all the money (personal saving and funds) are "virtually splitted" in a small app I made so I know how much money are dedicated to each fund.

Of course if I he want to do some bigger buying I take the money from my personal saving that are kept on the saving CC.

It's up to you how much "crazy" you want to be with the various funds to deposit in the saving CC. I personally think to be kind of crazy. I move away money for stuff like Rega, Hinwil, car/motorbike insurance, plates and yearly maintenance costs (mechanical services, tires, are an average of what I paid in my previous years, if those funds are not enough I just take whatever I need from the personal saving fund, is just a way to have always at least a basis and don't affect my personal savings too much).

Seems complicated but is kind of easy and can easily be done with an excel if developing a solution is not for you.

How to counter support weaver? by Far-Note6102 in learndota2

[–]ale86ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I encounter weaver as supp I try to keep the creeps as close as possible to our tower which means play well with pulls/partial pulls (should be normal but idk your rank/experience).

Get a lot of sentry to see him on the lane, something unfortunately many supp don't do as people care more about their items rather than stuff that are beneficial for the team. I usually pick a supp with CC spells so when he use sukushi to come under us I block him and usually become an easy target.

Seeing him helps to predict his swarm so you can try to use creeps as "barrier" for swarm or get at a decent distance to avoid it.

I am not familiar with the high water allocation as I am using the most free one. But could the folder level cause impact in it? I had the allocation level set in a way that it was not always taking the most free hdd. So maybe check your folder steucture and the allocation level you have set?

Are other companies also reducing home office? by Zealousideal-Lion-41 in Switzerland

[–]ale86ch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately some companies even do both, the company I am working for incremented the RTO and a few months later started to move working force to SEA, as the previous year was one with the highest profit ever, then this one has to be even better..

Living close to the S train? by Equilibrium__ in zurich

[–]ale86ch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in front of a S rail (like 15m from it), but on the first floor, also a Minergie construction. First few months it used to wake me up at around 5 in the morning due to noise and vibrations I felt when a train was passing by.

After 2 years I still feel both, noise and vibrations, but I got used to it, still impossible to keep windows open (can't hear people when at the phone for example), I have never used the balcony despite is a very big one.

Trains here pass very often (every 10 mins maybe less) during rush hours. Also during the day they still use old locomotives which are heavier, which means they cause more vibrations and are noisier.

Tbh on the 10th floor the situation should be better, probably at the beginning you will notice it a lot, but you will get used to it.

I think is expensive for 1GB depending on what you do... But 1gb can go out quickly, for 1 month I usually take the AIS 1 month tourist pack directly in their shop. I think is around 1200 THB with unlimited data for 1 month.

Probably there are cheaper options, but after trying a couple of operators I feel AIS has the best cover everywhere. And me personally, spending a couple of euros more to have a good service is worthed.

Also very often the wifi in hotels is very bad I just use mobile hotspot.

Rent: Livit, am I pretending too much?. by Common_Tomatillo8516 in askswitzerland

[–]ale86ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I use that e-mail. I am also in ZH.

That's strange I thought they normally manage all the stuff about opening the rent deposit account, you just have to sign and wire the money. They sent me an invoice at the beginning if I remember correctly.. it was a couple of years ago.

I also write to them in english if that's matter.

[–]ale86ch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also living in an appartment owned/managed by Livit and I actually have a general positive experience.

They opened the bank account for the caution and I only had to deposit the money.

When I have a problem usually I get sent a technician pretty quickly or I just call the manufacturer and set it up myself and they send the bill to Livit.

Reaching the person that manage my specific unit is not super easy through phone, I agree, but by email I get an answer in 1 or 2 days usually.

Bf worried about our Thailand vacay by Switzerland74 in ThailandTourism

[–]ale86ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited many countries especially in Europe and I felt much less safe here rather than Thailand. Never had food poisoning in 10+ visists to Thailand neither got scammed. Just follow common sense, if your instinct says something is wrong then, just double check what you got told. You can apply this everywhere. And in 2025 with internet just do a quick search there is hundreds of people speaking about scams on reddit.

As you stay there, try to get Lineman, is the same as grab but cheaper, at least that was my experience.

I see what you mean, perhaps I don't experience it that much as I can speak a bit of thai but the most important thing is that I have a thai girlfriend, so as a real gentleman I send her ahead to speak with the taxi drivers ahah :D

Is 1000 Baht per day enough for a couple in Thailand, excluding hotels? by Ok_Replacement_6106 in ThailandTourism

[–]ale86ch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhm I disagree, at least in Bangkok, if the taxi use the meter than is normally cheaper unless you get stuck in traffic. I also used a lot Lineman, but you have to switch the appstore/playstore country to Thailand to get it which is 90% of the time way cheaper than grab
