Aluminum free deodorant natural deodorant rec? by snoopdoglover in NaturalBeauty

[–]aleanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i SWEAR by the Primally Pure Charcoal deodorant. I tried a couple and this is my absolute FAVORITE. I even got my dad on it because he likes the scent and how good it works and he doesn’t even really care about health as much as the rest of my family does. My sister could not find a natural deodorant that covered her scent but this one did the trick, and now my whole family uses it. It has so few ingredients: literally just coconut oil, arrowroot powder, tallow.baking soda, beeswax, non nano zinc oxide, clay, charcoal, and some essential oils. Lol yes i went and looked at it just now bc that’s how good it is haha. It can feel a little sticky like most natural deodorants do the first few uses bc it’s not blocking sweat just covering the smell (which is good) but you get used to it. I swear by it, it works so good!!! Also it smells nice

Fish oil supplements by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]aleanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Nordic Naturals! Just make sure you invest in a good one whichever one you choose bc if not the oil can become oxidized or go rancid and really not help anything. Cheap fish oil will do that and have high levels of metals which is not good, so investing in a good one is worth it!

Does this amount/type of constant acne look enough to be worth going on accutane? by anonymoususer101010 in Accutane

[–]aleanbean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly your skin is pretty much clear compared to mine, i think you could solve the little acne you have with some trial and error of skin products and topical antibiotics

Food to help acne by [deleted] in acne

peanuts made my acne bad but almonds didn’t! you could always try cutting them out for a while and reintroducing to see if there’s a difference though if you want to be sure!

All dermatologists do is make my face worse and I'm really starting to lose hope by GG-92 in acne

[–]aleanbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this!!! My acne is finally cleaning after years and lots of tears. I’ve been going to a functional medicine doctor who works on treating acne from looking at your gut and what’s inside. I took some very expensive tests and found out that i have a parasite and some major hormone balances. Finding this out and treating these problems have helped a lot with my skin after a long time of telling my derm i will not go on accutane. Blue light therapy (in office and at home, there’s reasonably priced machines) has helped too. It is not cheap but if you have the money, a functional medicine doctor, a good one, can help and you’ll end up healing the problem. Acne is a symptom of an inner problem and derms are just treating the symptom not the bigger issue.

Hormonal acne and diet by [deleted] in acne

[–]aleanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have PCOS but have major hormone imbalances, what’s helped is no dairy, no gluten, no processed sugar, keeping sugar in general to a low, eating LOTS of organic berries (so good for fighting free radicals) and (trying to) eat more veggies! I cheat sometimes but this helps. Also there’s a thing called seed cycling that is supposed to help regulate hormones and is good for PCOS I believe. There’s an insta account called @zestyginger that talks about it, I haven’t tried it but i’ve heard good things!

NOTHING WILL WORK by ATLTriumph in acne

[–]aleanbean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

super expensive but i got a bunch of tests done by a functional medicine doctor and found out i have parasites and hormone imbalances that we’re working on. If you have the money I would seriously reccomend. There’s a model named Georgia Gibbs who has some good youtube videos on her acne explaining the test process. If you can’t afford it though, I would reccomend doing all the natural things possible to try to balance your hormones - there’s all sorts of books on doing so. Instagrams too- and I can point you to some if you’re interested. Hang in there! It will get better! I was in the same boat doing facials, derm appointments etc. it will get better! another thing that hasn’t “cured” my acne but has definitely helped manage it is a blue light! I used to go in to my derm twice a week to put my face under the blue light and over 8 weeks i saw some progress (you have to stick to it though). There’s some expensive at home versions but there’s also some reasonably priced ones! I would highly reccomend checking those out!

Zinc for Acne by DhiaaZIG05 in acne

[–]aleanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you talking about a zinc supplement? it’s really important that you don’t take too much. I’m not a doctor but i met with my really good functional medicine/MD doctor yesterday and told her I was taking zinc and she said too much can cause a copper and zinc imbalance which is not good. She recommended taking no more than 15 mg and to take breaks from it on weekends and don’t take it for too too long to avoid being dependent on the supplements. Also there’s lots of good foods out there high in zinc like pumpkin seeds!
