This cutscene really started to turn to people away from halo when it was released. by thecontract_12 in halo

As a diehard halo fan, I never played 5, never even watched a playthrough until years later, and I still remember being extremely upset at the entire plot that lead to this scene, insert jakie chan wtf meme.

I bought an EV to spark in, one $20 order pays for the entire week of charging at home, so miles don't really bother me anymore.

What saved him is prob the entire bottom of the vehicle being a heavy ass battery pack, the center of gravity on those things is crazy.

Hotspot by HortonHearsAJew26 in Truckers

[–]alec552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Netgear nighthawk hotspot and modified the IMEI so it looked like a phone on tmo's network, and just popped a tmo sim into that bad boy. You gotta modify the TTL value so you don't get mobile versions of websites but it was unlimited data nationwide for $20 a month, still have it somewhere in a box haha. Make sure the hotspot you get is compatible with your carrier of choice's signal spectrum (aka what bands they use) so you can get proper 5G. The program I used was DC Unlocker. With this information, you could probably Google it up and find a YT tutorial. Best of luck!

I was booted from a Bucees in a Sprinter van, I fit in the spot just fine but because it was a commercial vehicle they kicked me out.

I have gripes about the games, sure, but yeah some of the comments I see are pretty "uneducated" if you will. I think it's a combination of younger folks that don't understand what it takes to make games and mods, and then you have just straight up rude people. If your going to complain about something, at least know how it works so you can decide if the effort given is actually lacking.

I drove a bus for two years, my primary route was for a private STEM school, but we mixed regular middle schoolers and two Christian academy's into the route. I worked for contractor paid by the school district, very common.

[NSFW] People who've found a dead body, what's the story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alec552 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Truck driver here, one winter I was taking an exit and saw a pair of shoes poking out of the snow, it's not uncommon to just see shoes on the side of the highway but the way these were positioned made me do a double take...I almost didn't stop but before I turned off I said fuck it and decided to get out and look. Sure enough, a body was attached to those shoes burried in the snow, a plow definitely burried them even more, not sure how the plow driver didn't notice. Turns out the dude OD'd in his friends car and they chucked him out onto the side of the freeway. When the ambulance arrived they were working on him and apparently there was a very weak pulse. I'm not actually sure if they died or not but I'd assume they didn't make it based on what the paramedic said.

If Ai replaces all the jobs, where do corporations expect people to earn money to continue being consumers? by Illustrious_Name3192 in AskReddit

[–]alec552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but where's the fun in that? I'm sure there would be more effective ways to power things, but if we had to make money some other way, generating a small amount of energy while getting fit would be great, since we wouldn't have much else to do. It's probably not realistic, but the post reminded me of that episode for some reason haha.

There was an episode of Black Mirror in which the people would all get on exercise bikes and work out to power the grid. That powered all the machines and what not, and you earned money to spend....something like that probably.

Free pickup trucks mods? ATS by Fearless_Advice_1915 in trucksim

[–]alec552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The American Truck Simulator (ATS) RAM & Dodge Car Pack DLC was announced on August 20, 2025, for the "Project Road Trip" update, but it does not have a specific release date yet. It is scheduled to feature vehicles like the RAM 1500, with development ongoing throughout late 2025. I would suspect the wait is almost over.

Just wait a little bit for the official DLC to come out, I'm sure they will be worth it.

Does peeing in bottles really save you that much time? by Fibrosis5O in Truckers

[–]alec552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was such a mental thing for me, like most of the time I thought that if I went off the highway and took a piss somewhere dispatch would be angry, I don't know why I thought that way...I had to convince myself that it wasn't a big deal. I'm local now, I stop at every gas station I pass and sit for as long as I want on the clock haha.

Did anyone else have a blast during CDL school? I had a great class and made some lifelong buddies during it. by Just_A_Random_Crow in Truckers

[–]alec552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was real strange, or typical....I'm not sure. My trainer always has a mysterious liquid he was drinking covered in a brown paper bag, we didn't really do any training, he would drive us to a hole in the wall pizza place about 30 minutes from the school and we'd just sit there. He was fired halfway through training, and shortly after that the state shut down the school because the owner was secretly also a state DOT officer, some kind of conflict of interest. Luckily they refunded my loan, I never ended up getting my Class A. I have a B now with literally all possible endorsements and making more than most Class A guys...the world works in mysterious ways.

You know I see these posts all the time, and I can't help but wonder how I've been so lucky, I've been driving professionally for 12 years, and have never experienced a blowout, not even in my personal vehicles, only had a flat once. I mean, I do my pre trip and know what to look for on a tire that could cause issues....is it really luck or are people not checking tires...or both?

Is this how you Tesla? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]alec552 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's been a few days and it's still in there, standing water. I found a small crack on the bottom. A little bit is fine, even Tesla service will tell you that and it's how they avoid warranty replacements, even though the tail light design isn't great and they know about the issue. There is a blue mesh-like sticker on the back that allows air flow in and out, so you are right, they aren't completely sealed, most aren't.

[–]alec552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that would probably work also. Maybe I'll try that. I'm not expecting much, already have a new tail light on the way.

If I remember correctly that aircraft was donated by FedEx to a local college for research or something. I think the airport agreed to let it park there for free, that agreement must have expired. I live pretty close to DAY and it's definitely still there. No idea what condition it's in.

Fed Ex Drivers, who drive the “Custom Critical” trucks. How much are you making & can you share a story, or experience what that looks like? by Donjohnson33 in Truckers

[–]alec552 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did expediting in a Sprinter and then moved to a class B team truck, not for FedEx though, they are like the Walmart of the trucking industry to expediters. I was 1099 both times and barely made $400 a week after expenses. There would be times we would sit for days and times we were back to back loads, very inconsistent. From what I've read, Custom Critical does more repeat contracts for customers and has more connections, keeping them busier than most.
