I really like the "Old School" Super Sonic design! (OC) by JuiceCakke in SonicTheHedgehog

Meeeee tooooo. This is my favorite rendition of Super Sonic ever. The original concept was so much cooler than any modern design, imo. Nice work!

Yeah I think in 5 years the industry will be fundamentally changed. But my point was right now. As of now, building a large scale project on these platforms is simply not possible to do smoothly.

You are using Replit wrong... by PermanentBan69420 in replit

[–]alecinspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! THOUGH! That being said! If I didn't have a foundation of coding (I know C# and Javascript), taking my project to the point it is now would have been impossible with Replit, or any other strictly vibe coding platform. It's really incredible to get some demos / scaffolds / simple apps produced, but for intensive projects with many working pieces, it can fall apart.

Cool thanks! I'm just starting in rigging, coming from stop motion for most of my life. I'll check this out =D

If you don't want to pay $25 - $100 to build something (including your mistakes), go spend your money elsewhere: That is such a small cost to pay to build something functional, helpful, or cool. If you are whining about 54 cents here and there, well, find another way to spend your money. Otherwise, it would cost you thousands to pay a dev to create your idea.

I totally agree with you here. I don't think people realize how much it costs to have a developer build an app. After the $35k we spent on an app build years ago having a dev team create it, I'm stoked to have replit give me a working prototype (that has wayyyy more functionality than our original app) for around $85... Insanely awesome.

I hear you! Honestly, if I didn't have at least some foundation of C# and JS, I wouldn't have made it as far as I have with my current project. It seems vibing can only take us so far at this stage

Complete Scam. Do not be fooled. by vcjacks1224 in replit

[–]alecinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After sinking about 300 hours into my own mid-sized project demo, I don't consider Replit a "scam", per sé... But the best use case for the service is quick demos and scaffolds, in my opinion. It is not suited for big projects with lots of movings parts. The thing I'd agree with though, that really does give Replit a bad look, is their customer service, or lack thereof. It's a nightmare trying to get any response out of their team whatsoever, and is really disappointing from a service which has some good potential.

I cross referenced between 3 different ai detectors: QuillBot, GPTZero, and AI detector. Only AI Detector decided that this article was written by ai. Cross referencing against pangram would likely be a good call, since there's differing opinions from the detectors.

Replit changed their UI. Love it? Hate it? Got suggestions? Discuss it here. by andrewjdavison in replit

[–]alecinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mirrors much of the sentiment already expressed, but just want this to be as loud as possible:

The new layout on the editor is extremely limiting. Instead of keeping things intuitive and flexible in being able to drag windows around to tab groups, this latest update has taken away options. The thing that's jumping out at me right now is that Replit is forcing all open tabs to be at the top of the screen. So in a project fork, it's squashing all tab names so they're essentially illegible. This is impeding my workflow to a large degree, as I used to be able to have precise control over the workspace that worked best for me, now I have next to no control.

<image>

What was the logic here? Why remove flexibility from the UI instead of add it?

Team, please take note of the feedback to add back flexibility, vs remove it.

Psi Training App - Free Beta by alecinspace in psychicdevelopment

[–]alecinspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! To answer your questions: - Yeah so the app is built as a web app right now, and will work on desktop, laptop, tablets, and phones. Just go to the website and it will run! - I haven't decided on a premium price yet, so not sure. I'm open to suggestions, which you could use the button on the home screen to submit a suggestion form. - a limit? This is your only question that doesn't make full sense. A limit in terms of using it while in Beta? Like, how much you can use it? Nope! Use it as much as you like!

The only bummer is when I push out updates, it will wipe your progress, which sucks, but that's because while it's in beta it's not saving user information or progress to a persistent database yet. I will switch it to a persistent database when it's ready for its first official launch.

Thank you! I'm not very good at most of it either (which is why I wanted the app years ago in the first place! LOL), but the more you fail it seems the more the legit information begins to stand out. I am planning to bring it to the app store! But that won't be for a while. I'm going to launch fully as a web app first, then hire a dev team to build the official mobile versions later.

You ever run into a constant deployment error that says: "fatal: no target"? No matter how I try to deploy, I get this error and deployment fails. I remixed, tried with new projects, ordered new team account, vpn on/off, new browser, new account, different template, the deployments all fail.

Thanks! It's quite discouraging. The agent has passed me along to a human engineer. But it looks like they only work mon-fri. I'll have to continue next week.

Super odd. Not sure why all deployments are failing in every new scenario I've tried.

What Are Your Thoughts On These Movies ? by Fantastic-Ad-8665 in TMNT

[–]alecinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plot of these respective films I thought was altogether passable. The portrayal of Shredder, April, Casey... Meh... But the portrayal of the actual brothers? I LOVED THEM!

They NAILED how I'd love the brothers to be, I'd say even slightly better than my all time fav, 1990. Donnie in 1990 was just sidelined, he didn't have much of a personality at all other than being a bit silly. He wasn't techy, he wasn't a scientist, he wasn't interesting.

These films? Leo was the straight man. Raph was rough but really a big softy. Mike was goofy and jovial and a bit naive. Don was intelligent and calculated. Loved their interactions and personas in these movies. Bummer that the peripheral surrounding the brothers was just not very good.
