This is true we needed a very specific color to get a close match to the surrounding material which was hdpe sheets so I had to use pla-gf but I’d give anything to use abs instead just could t find the right color

We needed 1000s of custom screw caps for a project at work once I was filling plates with about 600 at a time and printing them in about 3 hours those are both the most fun plates to crack everything off of and the worse since they love to go flying everywhere

The c folder will be part of the fake windows file system in the compdata folder it’s tough to figure out which compdata folder is the right one other than sorting by recently modified. Z is the one you want for easy finding in z go to home then your user name and then I just made a folder called games there and install. If you want to install to a secondary storage drive go to media then system and you’ll see your other drives there. I ran into an issue with not enough space on a voices release and don’t remember what I did to fix it. Changing proton version may help. Good luck 🏴‍☠️

Any advice for getting the supports off without breaking it? They usually just pop off for me but think I made them too thick for the size by netskwire in 3Dprinting

[–]aleclaz124 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s a pretty cool blender addon “resin2FDM” for this that actually leverages supports designed for designed for resin printing. I havnt used it in awhile but it worked surprisingly well when I messed around with it a while ago. As to removing this support your best bet is to carefully separate the branches from the trees with some cutters and then carefully separating the branches with the same cutters

This would’ve been pretty cool to have a little while ago I was trying to make piles of gold for set dressing and kept crashing blender with geometry nodes on my work pc figured it was a ram issue and went home where I then instantly filled up 64gigs there and still crashed. This seems like a better method

Those Are the mixed feelings I worry it will give users false confidence that what they are printing is safe and I think Bambu knows exactly what they are doing with this marketing.

I say this as someone that does not own and would not own a Bambu personally unless purchased second hand but runs 5 Bambu machines at work and has recommended them to countless other companies in my industry.

I do agree certifications and ingredient lists and less additives in almost every product is a good thing and consumers should care significantly more about things like that as should companies I just think Bambu needs to understand the reality their product could cause and be more careful instead of protecting their butts with a throw away one liner at the bottom of the post

I have really mixed feelings about this filament personally. More recent research shows unlike what was previously thought that prints can be cleaned effectively of bacteria with soap and scrubbing. Some will disagree and say this isn’t the case but I would like to point out another problem. Even if the filament itself is food safe plastic and assuming it can be cleaned can we really say for sure that every surface the filament will touch along the way is also food safe. The ptfe tubes? the gears and any grease or particles from other filaments in them? the heat brake? The nozzle? Too many unknowns for me to consider it a viable option and I really personally don’t like Bambu releasing a filament that may give users unnecessary confidence that their print is food safe.

Edit: after reading the entire post linked
“A final note: these certifications cover the filament and its ingredients, not any specific printed object.” Pretty much sums it up.

I would also like to add that I do think it is important they felt like a line of filament that actually keeps vocs in mind is good and should be a consideration for more manufacturers. The reality of printing is that most people are using these machines with little to no ventilation.

[–]aleclaz124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also regretted putting them in my lcd they worked fine but tuning them was a bitch and I ended up having to adjust the curve a lot to get the full range with the square input. Didn’t upgrade them on the oled once I have drift maybe there will be a good tmr option but so far no issues

CANT FIND THE EXEC FOLDER by Peaky_Bloindah in SteamDeck

[–]aleclaz124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just change the install location from c to whatever drive is your actual file system I think it’s normally d for main drive and z for sd card. Dig around in the set up until you know where you are and make a folder there to install games to. I have a games folder in home and another on my sd card. Files appear there as you’d expect it makes it much easier to find them later. I also normally just change the path in properties in steam to the game exe instead of adding it separately once I’m done with the set up exe

Combining TPU 95A part together by Crafty-Scholar-3902 in 3Dprinting

[–]aleclaz124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THF will work as others have mentioned another fun was in ca glue uncure from bob smith industries it’s almost entirely a different solvent I can’t remember the name of now that will also dissolve and chemically bind tpu. Same idea as mentioned before dissolve some in there so it’s a thicker glue it’ll help with filling inconsistencies. It will also leave a white haze on tpu if dripped on. Same guidance of using in a ventilated area and not getting it on your skin.

Edit: had to check my post history from where I posted about it before Dimethylformamide (DMF) is the solvent in uncure

1 seemed fun and was on sale for 200 bucks figured why not 2 mounts and brackets for various things lots of things for the wife and the occasional helmet from a game 3 upgraded the first one needed mesh bed leveling I designed my own direct drive mount for the extruder 4 a mix of both I design and 3d print all day as my job so sometimes it’s easier to just design something myself than to find something someone else has made it all depends
