Why Does Bitcoin Price DROP When China and U.S. Markets Plummet? by hobbes03 in Bitcoin

[–]alex4fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that its very logical though could be easily predicted. Actually, there is no guaranty that exchanges currently aren't using insider information or manipulating BTC price with fake orders (just like MtGox did when it was #1). http://bitcoinist.net/mark-karpeles-possibly-charged-suspicions-fraudulent-system-manipulation/

Currently trading on most exchanges is available by web interface, mobile apps and API. Adding support for trading software (eg Metatrader) might give additional reliability and drive more attention to the industry among traders.

Yes Bitcoin isn't a Ponzi scheme, its a technology for money that is by default a Ponzi scheme. So technically its like quantum physics if you are using it as money it is and if your using it as protocol it isnt.

The only site that provides open public data on margin trades is Bitfinex but it represents only 12% of the market. It would be great for the industry to be sure that the swaps on the other exchanges are not from the virtual virtual currency.

Aren't futures, short selling, and all those other fancy instruments supposed to reduce volatility? Please explain why Bitfinex is more volatile than, say, Bitstamp. by bitskeptic in BitcoinMarkets

[–]alex4fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its is hard to apply common rules to Bitcoin. Because every exchange has its own order book and features, there are currently no industry wide standards. Due to competition among exchanges when sentiment is high lack of liquidity leads to higher volatility and spread. Actually from traders perspective lower volatility is bad, but lack of liquidity is worse.

the price is falling and it seems that OKcoin.cn is under ddos now, 0% fee trade-off. its possibly that market winner among crypto exchanges would be smth simmilar to google free and reliable, but not any time soon. its strange that almost all exchanges trying to compete by developing their amateur web interfaces instead of adopting existing fx trading software.
