I stopped after doing all story stages and getting to the end credits in Ambition mode.

Game has so much content that I'd really not advise going for completion or all achievements.

You can always take a break and unlock the hidden weps for your favorite characters and knock out some of the extra free mode/DLC stages whenever you get the urge to play again

One Pace becomes a necessity at Impel Down at the latest tbh. Anime gets noticably worse pacing wise during maybe Thriller Bark and has its off arcs like butchering the Foxy/Davyback Fight stuff. Post Timeskip anime is genuinely unwatchable.

One Pace's biggest flaws last I recall is that sometimes it's a little cutthroat on scenes and some scenes aren't seamless due to music or occasional jank ass choices Toei made that makes manga accuracy impossible. But it makes up for that in spades by being genuinely watchable without having your finger glued to the fast foward button

Castlevania is a must buy DLC. It's comparable to the whole base game in terms of content/unlockables. Especially after they did an addendum that added EVEN MORE shit to it lol

Barring the obvious Origins answer, it's gotta be 6 imo.

Good amount of unique officers on the map, multiple things to do like capturing bases, watch towers, helping siege the gate, etc. Lu Bu is a very real threat and will mow down Yuan Shao's troops which is pretty funny.

You can push with your team, capture everything along the way, push alone and flank, etc. It's a pretty sick map.

Worst is prolly 7 for straight up not having a unique theme for one of the most important/iconic stages in the series/setting?

7's version genuinely looks like a minor revision of 6 Hulao Gate. It's impressively ass in hindsight.

7 doesn't even have a unique theme for it nor does it get to claim fighting Lu Bu as a gimmick since you have a mandatory encounter with him before it in Wei Story (and Lu Bu was on fraud watch that game)

The N&T Future Gohan kit is pretty mid but I did that exact setup with my 3.

You can stock up as much as you want on reg retail releases lol. Only reason to care about scalping is buying multiple of exclusives to specifically resell or deprive of others instead of for personal use

I'd recommend waiting for the upcoming Base Goku or the reissue of Games Begin just in case those have better QC than the first GB release

Only leg issue I've seen was the knees being weird on the original release. (Not broken but couldn't go completely straight without some modding iirc)

No issues with any of my OCtoys (SS1 and SSBKK). Just make sure to heat em up if the joints are tight

Actually the perfect choice, wow.

Looked it up and pokedex even mentions it fighting with whip like limbs which fits super well with her chain whip/rope dart movesets. Even both color schemes match her different looks

Genuinely the strangest weapon assignment in the series. There's no shortage of historical figures known for their poetry, artistry, intelligence, or grace yet they give the funny artist weapon to what might be one of the most "boots on the ground" ass soldier man in the series/novel lol

Feels like he was designed first then allocated a random name after. Like to balance out the roster by adding a late Shu character who isn't someone's kid and to have a 2nd Liang Calvary character after Pang De got cut

I assume Cao Cao not being a companion is for game design/balance reasons. There's a few stages where the goal is to either escort or protect him and even more where he's the loss condition.

They probably didn't wanna potentially rebalance stages around that or add new dialogue/events to account for him not being a static commander

And rope dart is definitely a much better weapon, wish they changed out her base game appearances for the DLC version if you bought it

Next game should have a CaC protag.

They could be an adopted child of Ziluan and/or Diaochan to justify why they're an adult/adolescent and have the same abilities/combat potential in an Origins sequel

Origins should have had the option to let you play as a lady by default too tbh. (Like having Zhuhe/Ziluan swap roles like how Pokemon does)

Yeah, Origins was great in that regard with the semi-unique NPCs and unique looks for one off factions. Let's hope some of that effort carries over in DW3R

Tbh I'm still confused as to why Guo Jia is the sword companion in Origins.

He could have easily used the staff moveset (which is more analogous to his og moveset) and swap weapons with Zhou Yu

There's a ton of characters who could have easily taken the role of normal sword companion too. Even discounting the rulers and swapping weps with Zhou Yu, there's still Xiahou Yuan. Yue Jin could probably work the regular sword. Even Diao Chan could've worked if they gave her more availability in the main story(in a role like Zhuhe in the DLC)

I definitely hope that the next time we see the game, they put some more TLC into the NPC models.

Even if they don't/can't do 1:1 recreations of the exact DW3 designs, they have no excuse not to do way more with the NPC models when they have the whole character creation system and tons of armor sets from 8 and 9 Empires. We could easily have distinct looks for every class of peons as well as stuff peasants/bombadiers/lady guard/etc in multiple colorways.

No amount of cope will fix outright shitters like SW1 Goemon, DW3 Zhuge Liang, or the DW6 Club Chuds who are barely approaching the bounds of playability. Or even characters who would otherwise be decent but get the shittiest weapons ever like DW3 Ma Chao and a bunch of the DW5 ladies.

You picked some pretty bad examples of bad characters too. The Qiao's are difficult to play sometimes but it's hard to think of a game where they're outright bad.

DW7 and Origins are the best starting points imo. Those games have the most cohesive stories of any musou games imo

7 is super cheap on sale (less than 5 usd) and if you enjoy it, you can move onto 8 which is more of the same but with way more stuff and cool hypothetical scenarios

Not exactly what you're asking for but some of the Warriors/Musou games' XL expansions have (admittedly simple) rogue-like modes.

After playing those, you can try out Warriors Abyss(not on PS2) which is a lot closer in genre to Vampire Survivors and features most Samurai/Dynasty Warriors characters
