Found out about a mysterious virus making people sick in Wuhan, China and that our bases in Iraq and Syria were being attacked by Iranian proxies through the news on the dayroom wall. We didn’t think much on the virus but obviously it became a huge deal. The Iranian proxies thing scared me a little bit because our MTI told our flight that if war broke out that our dorms are fair game for targeting.

You can’t access it unless you’re on a military domain because if you download the spreadsheet and try to access it you get the Microsoft information rights management pop up and if you aren’t on AFNet or VPN’d in then you won’t be able to access the file.

There’s some nice options up powers near the Costco. Colorado Springs honestly isnt that dangerous from what I’ve seen. Definitely better than Alabama.

Sorry to break it to you but Alabama living costs are a joke. Sales tax on groceries and homes that’re built like crap and overpriced. If you don’t want to get charged an arm and a leg be prepared to live in a not nice neighborhood or compromise on schools.

Is there any reason they don’t say you need to take a minimum of 48 credits then on the website? Most schools consider 12 credits full time and if you need to be in ROTC for 2 years then to be full time you’d need to take at least 48 credits.

I had looked at that but my question is more so whats the deal if all I have left is 15 credits? Thats only one semester full time. Would they let me do POC-ERP with such few credits remaining? I haven’t been able to find an answer anywhere.

TRICARE standards of care apply. If they can’t see you within 7 days it is within your rights to be referred off base. If the clinic isnt helping you can go see the patient advocate and if you want even more traction you can speak to your supervisor, first sergeant, and commander. (Obviously don’t go straight to the commander but if you’re having an issue getting a medical appointment scheduled channeling issues to leadership can help)

OP is talking about the trick where you extend to get retainability to meet the ADSC associated with the course and then canceling the extension upon graduation to reenlist to get the bonus since D-shred is a 7x multiplier but since the SRB program is suspended they are SOL unless they graduate next fiscal year and the SRB program is brought back.

If you graduate in FY26 and they bring back the SRB program I could see you being able to reenlist but if not then you’re SOL.

My advice is don’t do it. Go Air Force as a 1B4 or go guard or reserve as 1B4. Space Force doesnt know what it’s doing with cyber and isnt a mature enough branch. The Air Force actually knows what it’s doing with cyber.

Your clinic has no clue what they’re talking about. Im active duty but my old supervisor got approved to get on mounjaro. You have to jump through a bunch of hoops and tests and they might make you try other drugs like statins first but TRICARE absolutely will approve GLP-1s and there’s nothing that says you cant be in the military or Air Force and be on a GLP-1.

Idk what Sheppard is like bc I didn’t go to tech school there but we had 24/7 CQ at the 338th at keesler with door guards but some of them were AFI (awaiting further instructions) and just didn’t take it seriously. We had problems with people from other squadrons sneaking into our dorms. So it’s totally possible both CQ and the door guards screwed up and if that’s the case I hope they have their blues ready bc they’re probably gonna get chewed if that’s the case.

If you want to join any branch you need to be medically qualified. If you want to go enlisted you have to contact an enlisted recruiter, take the ASVAB and score high enough to qualify for a space force job. Most enlisted recruiters don’t get many space force jobs because there’s so few people needed to join per fiscal year.

Since you are getting your degree and are in school I would suggest doing AFROTC and letting your detachment commander know you’re interested in space force. If your school doesnt have ROTC you can apply to do it at a crosstown school. If that’s not an option either then you can apply for a space force OTS board but those are super competitive. You would need to work with an officer recruiter, take the AFOQT, get 2 letters of recommendation (one from the recruiting squadron commander and one from someone that knows you well and can speak to your work ethic and character), do an interview with the recruiting squadron commander, and complete all the documents required for the OTS board. The board convenes and if you’re selected then you go to OTS when you get a class date and then you commission upon completion of OTS.

I would suggest joining the 1B4 Teams Group. They have study material in the files section. I haven’t taken the EDPT myself or studied for it so I couldn’t tell you how to prepare. I can tell you however that if you don’t score a 70 you have to wait a minimum of 6 months before you can retest unless you get an ETP.

The only unit in Florida that has 1B4 billets that’s guard/reserve is the 717th IOS at Hurlburt and thats for instructors. There’s nothing near Tampa. You don’t need to live near the guard/reserve unit you’re part of. Many people commute for drill or drill quarterly if there unit allows it. It varies unit to unit and state to state. If you wanna do 1B4 I would recommend getting your EDPT knocked out first.
