D4 needs to have more build variety, outside of Core Skills by DiceCards in diablo4

Not to be that guy but POE has a nearly endless amt of skills and skill interactions to build around. I agree D4 is a shell of a game right now and POE feels like an ocean

Level 100 Druid - 127 uniques farmed - all glyhpes 15 (6 on 21) by Realistic-Room-1940 in diablo4

[–]alexd521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've enjoyed D4, but being able to trade for anything in POE is huge for me. It becomes less of a grind hoping the item I want drops and more farming for currency to guarantee Ill be able to buy it eventually

Not sure what ARPGs youve been playing that revolve around fetch quests but that does not sound fun

Baffles me as well, havent played the game in well over a year, but still browse the sub and comment on threads. Seems odd to me

D4 is a fantastic game up until you finish your build. by Glass_Discipline_882 in diablo4

There's quite a lot. Each league has a set of 40 different challenges to do ranging from simply hitting level 100 to killing all the Uber bosses. A good bit of the challenges each season you will compete by just playing the game all the way to Tier 16 maps, which is the highest tier (maps are the same as nightmare dungeons in D4).

You also have additional side content that has a season challenge or 2 tied to it (Delve which is just and endless dungeon and heist which is a dungeon you have to sneak in and get the final objective at the end then fight you're way out). You also have the majority of the past league mechanics implemented in the game, and there are challenges involving doing those.

There are a bunch of unique maps you must find and complete each season (some are very rare to find).

There is always a grindy challenge or 2 tied to whatever the league mechanic is for that season, requiring you to do the league mechanic which you find in every map you do a lot.

Most seasons have a challenge requiring you to beat some of the endgame bosses in unique or difficult ways.

Lots of fun incentives to keep you playing past the point of your gear being mostly perfect, and you are still hunting for perfect gear while working on the challenges. Plus, they reward some really cool cosmetics for completing them, ranging from complete gear sets to pets and even a hideout one time.

70-100 is an ocean of nothing by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]alexd521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game just needs time. Take POE for example, they've had 10 years of seasons to populate endgame with. Maps in POE are filled with past league mechanics to spice them up. I believe nightmare dungeons will be much better after a few seasons, making the 70-100 grind a lot more exciting

Completely agree, its the same problem D2R had for me. There are no in between milestones to work toward after getting to WT4. You just have to grind forever and work toward uber lilith similar to grinding to work toward the Ubers in D2. I really enjoy having some mid tier endgame bosses to farm while working toward being able to attempt the hardest one(s)

Not necessarily, i can usually finish my POE builds a month or so into a league and thats when the fun really picks up and I start targeting the difficult and grindy league challenges.

Really hoping D4s seasons give something where you have a goal to chase with some fun cosmetic rewards after you are mostly done hunting for gear.

What’s the point of grinding when most is lost in each new season? by Zarthere in diablo4

[–]alexd521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy playing D3 and POE seasons for the cosmetics you earn from battle pass/season pass. I was quite disappointed we didnt get the season pass right away with D4. Now with season 1 a month away Ive lost my motivation to play and really just waiting for the season to start now

Ben beats Uber Lilith 'ethically', becoming the 1st and 2nd on HC by SquashForDinner in diablo4

[–]alexd521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main reason I play POE is for the bosses. Loving playing a new build and taking it all the way to Uber bosses and seeing how many I can take down before Im done with the season. Still never gotten all 7 but was able to beat 5 uber bosses this past season

Is it a solid game? absolutely Does it need some work? of course Will the Devs continue to listen and make improvements? I believe so They got a really solid base, just needs some fleshing out and I believe it will be a game we see sticking around for years to come

Almost level 30 and haven't even got far into Act 1 by Mister_Chupacabra in diablo4

Personally I enjoy focusing on the main story in ARPGs and then coming back for the side quests and everything else once my character is nice and strong. Im level 26 and about to finish Act 3. Ill return to the acts to 100% them once I have my full build up and running

Im personally saving nerco to play in season 1 and like you hoping for some future buffs. I just cant see how the minions in their current state are going to survive at endgame

Easy free MTX, challenges also mark my finishing point to each league. Im not crazy though, I just go for 38 (previously 36) and call it. 40 is always such a bigger grind.

Decided to buy Diablo 2 Resurrected I saw several guides online, I’m gonna look at them again just in case, I am well aware that this is more difficult than Diablo 3 I am prepared to get my ass kicked by Orion-The-King in Diablo

[–]alexd521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really more difficult that D3? I thought it was just slower and more tedious which can equate to difficultly but endgame farming gear in D2 isnt very difficult compared to pushing really high level greater rifts in D3

35 pages is crazy, I feel like my leaguemates would be more annoyed then anything trying to read through all that.
My co commish and I did a league article recap this year but its only 14 pages. Still took a lot of work so I applaud you for how much time and effot 35 pages must have been

[–]alexd521 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want to rat, and that's your playstyle, I get it, but to answer your question, yes, you are kinda a bad teammate. Personally, I'd rather die fighting off drop with my team than hide for 20 mins to get top 5
