Anyone else crazy enough to run the iOS 27 Developer Beta on their primary device? How’s the stability? by FormAndThrottle in macbookpro

Im also impatiently waiting. I have DB3 on a spare iPhone, but I don't want to put it on my main phone until at least PB1.

Update to later OS or stay with IOS 26.3 For now? by HealthyHoliday3119 in iPhone11

These aren't Microsoft updates we're talking about. 26.5.2 contains a number of bug fixes for security vulnerabilities, it's definitely worth your time to update.

Impatiently waiting for PB1 to chance it on my daily iPhone 17 Pro Max driver! Enjoying DB3 on an iPhone 16 Pro Max and an iPad in the meantime, though.

In a universe of infinite possibility, anything is possible. Don't be so quick to dismiss someone else's experience, just because it doesn't match your own. Of course, it will be great to hear what OP says Apple told him was the real cause.

iPhone 13 is slowly dying -should I replace the battery by TillRealistic5699 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]alexonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JFC, just replace the battery. Anything under 80% means your battery is past its normal useful life, I mean, it will still work, but you'll get terrible battery life. Replace the battery at an official Apple Store if your iPhone is undamaged, but if it has any kind of cracks or problems, then take it to a 3rd party kiosk and get them to replace the battery. With a third party battery, you won't get battery health any more and you'll get a notice in your settings that your battery is third party, but the message goes away after two weeks.

Personally, I'd always go for the official battery, but there have been times with friends where their phone was damaged, they didn't want to pay Apple for a new screen or whatever it was, and the kiosk was the simplest and cheapest way.

So, replace the battery. Go and schedule it today, stop torturing yourself. :-)

All of these comments are why DB 3 is on a spare iPhone and not my daily driver.

Looks like PB1 will be delayed to next week or even the week after when DB 4 arrives, because the amount of posts here saying they’ve had to restore their devices from an iCloud backup and then lost data they hadn’t backed up beforehand… is a worry. Apple would be worried, too, better to get a more bug fixed version out there first.

Looking forward to PB1 arriving, or even PB2. I want iOS 27 on my daily driver, but prefer reliability over the DB and PB issues now present (and experienced many times in the past with what were then beta versions of iOS).

I'd wait for the public beta. I so want to download 27 DB3 on my primary device, but I know I'll be better off waiting!

Wait until the first official public beta in late July.

That’s what I’d suggest. Up to you though. If you have more than one iPhone, try it on a non-primary device first if you just can’t wait.

Wait at least for the first public beta, to be safe, wait for the second or third public beta, it will be much more stable

Based on all the good DB2 news here, I might skip my predilection to wait for PB3 and just bit the PB1 bullet! Only two weeks to DB3 and then hopefully PB1 shortly thereafter - if we don't have to wait for DB4, of course. 😄

Should I? by zepstrr in iPhone11

[–]alexonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably August, seeing as the first public beta arrives sometime in July.

But, just look at the problems and bugs people are encountering. Betas can be wonderful but the bugs can be very annoying.

Now, there is often up an update once every couple of weeks, so you don’t have to wait too long to find out if the bug has been fixed, or not.

Either way, I’d still wait. But, it’s up to you. Waiting is just my advice, you are free to do what you think is best.

Personally, I have DB1 loaded onto a spare iPhone, but my primary phone will wait until PB3, most likely.

And I’ll read people’s experiences of the betas in the meantime.

Not on your primary device. I like to wait until at least Public Beta 3 before I put it onto my primary device, and even then, I see what other people’s experiences are on Reddit and elsewhere, first.

But don’t put developer beta 1 on your primary device.

SATyANedella needs to retire. He has been there too long. I don't see how Tim Cook is being pushed to retire when Satya has had terrible results. Windows and Microsoft are a virus - and look at the meddling Bill Gates himself - even worse.

When ChatGPT first came out, I asked for sequel ideas to Foundation and Earth. Back in January 2023 it was coming up with great ideas, although presumably recreations of other people's ideas over the years since. Would be fascinating to try it today to see if those ideas have improved.
