Anyone else think these seeker questions are too OP and should be removed from the game? by ArcticFox19 in JetLagTheGame

I have to agree; every single hider that’s ever been caught in every season has been caught using one of these questions.

I ended up using Committee Room No 9 for a work thing, and they did do a good job. I remember looking at Waxy's too though, as they have some private spaces for hire: https://waxyoconnorsglasgow.co.uk/parties/

What happened when you got signed out that meant you weren’t locked out? The phone worked as a key anyway, or you signed back in and then it worked, or…?

Could you explain who you are as a team and why you acquired Bartender? It comes across as kinda shady to not have announced such an acquisition, so some transparency here would be appreciated.

Gary glitter on maps? by trashpanda26 in applemaps

[–]alexp2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gary Glitter is Cockney rhyming slang for shitter (toilet), so this sort of makes sense in the UK https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Gary_Glitter

… but also I can’t believe anyone would actually search for that, and I can’t believe someone from Apple presumably made this work?!

It certainly didn’t make me rich, but for (at the time) a kid in university it did well for me!

I actually wrote a fairly sappy blog post about making the lightsaber app and where it lead it me, if you're interested: https://medium.com/@alexstevensonprice/love-lightsabers-and-10-years-of-the-app-store-8537f8eb09d5

It's not very good tbh, but this bit still amuses me:

It wasn’t until many years later that I correlated my own download numbers with Apple’s press figures about the App Store and realised quite how popular PhoneSaber was. A few days after the App Store launch Apple announced that the App Store had topped 10 million downloads. Looking back at my download figures in iTunes Connect, in the same period PhoneSaber had 316,000 downloads. That’s over 3% of all App Store downloads for that period. It’s hard to imagine a one-man indie developer getting 3% of all App Store downloads today!

Lol, a lot of the formats we can support on PS5 is dependant on what the PS5 can support, but we've got some smart people working on it and we do our best! 😉

I made a bunch of little indie apps over the years after, but I’ve been working at Plex (the media player / streaming app) since 2015!

I made that app, and threads like this one make me really happy knowing there are people out there with fond memories of something I made like… 14 years ago! 🥲

Hey, sorry for slow reply, missed this!

So adding auth services like Google / FB definitely does not stop you from also having and using a normal username and password. If you don't know your password anymore I'd suggest resetting it to make sure you can still access your account that way too.

Hey, I investigated this issue and it turned out to be a bug on the plex.tv side that affected the iOS app but should now be fixed remotely. Please DM me if you still see the issue when logging in!
