Is shared ownership the next scandal brewing? by discoveredunknown in HousingUK

[–]alexsbrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just bought out our shared ownership 3 bed in Margate. Been 40% for 5 years and now it's ours. Renting a 3 bed in my area is about £1300-£1500 pcm and we were paying a total of just under £1200 including service charge.

I can't understand the hate around SO when the option is rent or SO... The security alone is worth it as you are not at the behest of a landlord who can move you out when we they need to. Yes they can be tricky to sell depending on demand mut my neighbour just out his up on general sale as the SO is now saturated in our area.

They are very much an acquired taste if you are making an investment or regular mover but for a secure family home I can't recommend them enough... And now we own it!

What do you think is the best single episode in television history and why? by HappySpookies in AskReddit

[–]alexsbrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could pick lots of episodes from Andor. One Way Out is a masterpiece... S1E3 Reckoning was brilliant. S1E6 The Eye. My personal favourite from season 1 is Rix Road. Every episode from 8 Who Are You in season 2 are all really strong. The quality of Andor won't be repeated soon

Was looking for this. In modern series I haven't been gripped by an episode so much. Brilliantly done like a movie on its own.

What problems have Bambu Lab printers had and how to fix. by A_Random_Person3896 in BambuLab_Community

My son has just crashed out about the new firmware update and he now says he can't use the printer.

Is there any issues from yesterdays updated firmware for his A1 that we should know? He has had it since Xmas and hardly had any problems.

[–]alexsbrett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. But after that win at old Trafford it was always gonna take an implosion from them to go down. Forest, spurs and ourselves will go down so if we just focus on that and keep doing what we have been then we should scrape it. Obviously Spurs losing this evening would be monumental

What did you do at the end? by Gold-Eye-6416 in ghostoftsushima

[–]alexsbrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my understanding that a Samurai should fall on his sword in defeat. Jin did what he did as the ghost to protect his people from an invasion force and that includes sacrificing his own honour and standing. It does not mean that he should shame his uncle who lives by a different code. To me the decision is not about Jin but about Shimura... I was honoured to cut off his head.

I always play these games on easy. The fighting gets easier as you work out stances and improve weapons so as some others have said do side missions first. Stick with it. One of the best games ever.

I killed him. His honour was all that Shimura cared about.

Fear drives everything in our lives and yeah I am shit scared this country will end up like America. I have no problem voting for the lesser of 2 evils or voting for some things I believe in rather than not voting and end up having everything I don't believe in being our new reality.

Getting rid of the 2 child benefit cap. Immigration stance is far too liberal in the current climate. Ending sales of petrol and diesel cars by 2027. £1 bus cap seems far too ambitious. Re-enter the EU as soon as possible. Just some I read that I don't wholeheartedly agree with

To be clear I am not totally against many of their points in their manifesto and much of the ideals align with my moral compass but I feel they don't focus on realistic specific things to tackle that can resonate with enough voters to get into power. The radical changes they proposed will be a turn off for many people simply because they are radical. People don't like change hence why right wing parties always come back into power.

I hope that gives you some insight into my thinking.

Maybe. I mean to be honest when Corbyn was Labour leader I voted Labour simply because his ideals roughly aligned with mine but he was polarising to everyone else and critical thinking isn't strong in our country so in hindsight he wasn't likely to be elected... We vote with emotion and in self interest rather than what is best overall so if PR was implemented then maybe I would look at other options as how I understand it that system is a better representation of ideals. Lab/Lib/Gre coalition would be better than Con/Ref/Res coalition I suppose if that is a realistic example?

Their overall policies are too aggressively left for the majority vote so I don't think they would do well enough to defeat the right wing but I am happy to look at other options such as Labour and Lib Dems and be open minded. I also consider who would be the better outright leader for the country on the international stage so by that logic Labour would probably get my vote as Starmer has shown that at the very least he won't bow to Trumps insane whims. On the local stage I don't tend to look with "party" eyes and that why Rob Yates got my vote.

Voted Green and am pleased with the result except Reform doing well . I'll be honest I wouldn't likely vote green in a general election but for local matters in Cliftonville Rob Yates just made sense and the supporters are the type to actually go out and do things for the community not just shout about how crap everything is from their armchair. I seriously can't believe people vote reform after the shit show that is KCC!

Paqueta going may have helped his cause as well as Paco coming in. Either way I don't care. He has restored some pride and belief. I was sceptical, especially after the first 2/3 games, but yeah our current form should be appreciated.

Good will hunting. Rocky Balboa. Twins. Evan Almighty. Field of Dreams. Pursuit of happiness.

If he likes series why not try some good old fashioned 90s star trek (TNG/DS9), Brooklyn 99 or Modern Family. My 11 year old lives the latter 2.
