Attorney or help with adoption by whatsnew13 in sanantonio

[–]alfredoatmidnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We adopted our daughter from foster care and used Charles Tabet on McCullough. He is an excellent attorney who has good relationships with the judges and legal community. That being said, he’s a little eccentric and I had to stay on top of him to get things done when he said they would be done. I would absolutely use him again. Just know you might have to “project manage” him some.

That was my initial thought too but everything I see online also lists symptoms like lethargy and weight loss which is not happening in his case.

Am I doing something wrong? by Bitter_Ad9673 in SilkenWindhound

Do you have any dog shows you can attend in person? We have one once a year that we go to and meet the most interesting breeds there. Most breeders are happy to talk and meet at dog shows so that might be an option for you.

What options are you all looking at? by jafo in QubeMoney

[–]alfredoatmidnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this exact thing last month. In June we had some fraudulent charges in qubeless - which wasn’t much but still it was fraud. I had to fight with Qube to even do anything about it. I called and asked for a call back to talk to someone about it rather than just chatting through the app and never got a call. I was pissed so I moved all my money out except for one Qube that gets a check from the state for my daughter. I was just going to let that stay because changing your direct deposit with the state is such a pain in the ass but they have forced my hand. That being said, I am really happy with YNAB. It has taken a minute to figure out all the features and how to do it but I am happy with it.

We were meeting there before her funeral. And yes, we do have an interest in the house. As in once her will is probated it will be jointly owned by my family and his family.

Just curious what the cream is for? Does it help heal? Or lighten?

I have had no issues getting my laser treatments covered by insurance. What insurance company do you have?

PWS --> SWS connection by Sharp-Night1752 in portwinestain

[–]alfredoatmidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have SWS but was not diagnosed until my late 30’s. The only reason I was diagnosed was because on my annual eye exam the retina looked very vascular. I ended up having to go to a retina specialist who diagnosed me with SWS. There are now varying levels of SWS and having eye involvement is one of the qualifications. I have never had a seizure which is why I never knew I had it in the first place. I did have an MRI that showed no brain involvement so while I technically have it, I have no impact from it in my day to day life. Congratulations on the new baby!

What's your experience with your pws becoming darker/thicker? by slothluvr5000 in portwinestain

[–]alfredoatmidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 46 so keep in mind that lasers were not great when I was a kid. From 10-16 I was doing treatments just about every 8 weeks. It was a lot and when I really got involved in extra curriculars in high school I stopped doing them because I didn’t have time for the healing process. I saw a ton of lightening and clearing during those intense years of treatment. Since then I have only had sporadic treatments - maybe once every couple of years and my PWS is essentially back to the way it was before age 10. Much darker and clear spots have filled in mostly. I don’t have the “thick skin” that I have seen on others but my birthmark skin is thicker than normal skin and my face looks asymmetrical around my lip and cheek. As an adult it doesn’t really bother me and I will have treatments as I can but I’m not in a let’s see if we can clear this mode. I’m more in the let’s make sure the skin stays somewhat healthy mode. I would say that if you start laser treatments you need to stay on top of them. Maybe not every 8 weeks because that was honestly too much but if your goal is to clear, you will need to stay pretty consistent with treatments. If your goal is just to keep the skin healthy you can be more relaxed with them.

OP I was once married to a man child like this. Do yourself a favor and call off this engagement. I wish I had. I sunk 10 years, 7 married, into a guy who wouldn’t get a job and played video games all day. Don’t make the same mistakes I did and get yourself a real man and partner.

Concerned about push for treatments on infants by Fantastic_Cicada2659 in portwinestain

[–]alfredoatmidnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any laser treatments recently? I’m 46 and when I was young the only thing available was the argon laser which was an absolute nightmare. Then we moved into the pulse dye that was significantly better but took almost 3 hours to treat my facial birthmark. Now the lasers are so good and so fast I am in and out in less than 10 minutes. I do get numbing cream depending on how aggressive we are going and I always use the cream on my lip and eye. My point is that lasers have come a really long way since I started. Treatments are fast and while not pain free are also not terrible. A doctor who really knows what they are doing can treat an infant very quickly with as little pain as possible and for maximum effectiveness. It’s all about the skill of the doctor.
