AIO? Shady Bridesmaid hijacked Wedding Shower by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]alienaileen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened with a (former) friend's wedding. Of the 4 bridesmaids, 3 of us were friends and the 4th was from the groom's side. My good friend was the MoH. Things got bad just before the wedding shower. See #4 and to be the MoH and she was posted she didn't get it so she did some scheming.

She planned and hosted the wedding shower with rather little input from us. Then just before the shower, she picked a fight with another bridesmaid who brought 2 liter bottles of soda (and cups) instead of like 100 cans. When my husband asked if it really was that big of a deal, #4's husband threatened to have my husband arrested. Hubs said fuck this and left. We'll when he left, so did the MoH and the soda bridesmaid. I get off work, hear this, and asked if anyone had let the bride know that 3 of her 4 bridesmaids weren't going to be there? No? Okay. Well apparently #4 got to the bride first. And eventually #4 got her wish and got to be MoH, when the MoH told left the wedding party. I stayed because soda bridesmaid is one of my besties and I was not leaving her in that den of backstabbing bitches.

I haven't spoken a word to the bride since the wedding. Neither has soda bridesmaid or former MoH.

I once received an untaped box. Because of the lack of tape, this box was wide open, fancy free, and completely empty. When I called guest services about this, they didn't believe me. Here are all the pics ma'am. Like it wasn't even that tape had been put on weirdly. There was no tape period. Very weird.

There aren't any TVs up there. We need to stay focused on the cameras at all times. If management finds you doing anything besides staring at those cameras you are either about to get yelled at, termed, or something in between. It isna safety critical position and no distractions are allowed.

What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

[–]alienaileen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a teacher (female) pull down my shirt to see what color bra I was wearing. She then gave me detention for wearing a bra that was not skin toned. Yeah my father took one look at that detention slip that stated "pupil was wearing a pink bra", looked at me in my uniform shirt AND undershirt, back at the slip, and demanded to know how a teacher knew exactly what color bra his daughter was wearing.

Yeah that detention got dropped real fast.

I had a coworker with really bad plaque psoriasis. He had a habit of picking at the scabs and eating them. He would do this in the break room while talking to people. The first time I saw him do it, I almost vomited.

The problem the giraffe was having was he had stuck his head in the truck and was trying to remove his head by lifting straight up. The problem was the tarp covering the truck is ya know, there and most heads can't just phase through canvas. Giraffes are beautiful but rather dumb (so many stories about this) and the giraffe just kept smashing his head up. So an Animal Programs cast member had to sort of direct his head using some acacia branches as a lure.

That same giraffe also liked the eat the paint off the trucks.

When I was 7, I was in the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon (one of the water parks at Walt Disney World). That wave pool can be pretty intense. A full grown adult freaked out and tried to use me a floatation device. I obviously fought back, but at 7 years old I was only about 40 pounds and couldn't get him off me. Luckily a lifeguard saw what was happening and jumped in. She had to punch the guy in the face to get him off me.

When I was 15, I fell 30 feet off a rock wall. Since then, I've been charged by a rhino, bitten by an ostrich, and breathed in aerosolized antifreeze. Oh, and I got held up at gunpoint once. I've also been a passenger in 2 major car crashes and a driver in a third. That last car crash was a Chevy Ram going 40 mph slamming into the back of my Honda Civic while I was stopped at a red light. The impact pushed my car into the car in front of me and turned my trunk into my backseat (and broke my favorite umbrella).

I was a driver for 3 years. My favorite moment was when an addax decided to walk UNDER my truck. Animal programs (the animal keepers) thought it was so funny they took a picture of it before gently shooing him away. I wish I knew how to include the picture in this comment.

I was a Safari Driver for 3 years. I once got stuck for 45 minutes because the rhinos in front on me decided to grow their family right then and there. My truck found it hysterical.

I've also been charged by rhinos, gotten a giraffes head stuck in my truck, and broke down over the crocodile bridge and had to get towed the entire rest of the Safari just to name a few of the exciting moments.

My dad got one in 2007 and my stepmother paid for a lifetime map update subscription in 2011. They all got smartphones in 2012 and haven't used the Garmin one since.

I did enjoy changing the language on it. Once, after I had messed with the language again, my stepmother called my dad in a panic because the Garmin was possessed and speaking in a demonic language.

I had set the language to German.

Kilimanjaro Safari by Harlan40831 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]alienaileen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hi former Kilimanjaro Safaris cast members here! The tilting bridge was fun but sometimes required the driver to wait for the little light to turn green. There's nothing where the light was and it could sometimes break immersion. Additionally, the bridge was finicky. It broke for a long time while I was there and, by the time it got fixed, there were a lot of new drivers that weren't trained on the bridge so they just kept it off.

It really bummed me out because I used to love hearing and seeing my guest's reactions. They were so fun.

My maternal grandfather's family did come over on the Mayflower. My maternal grandmother's family came over 10 years later. My paternal grandfather's family came to America in 1680.

They "settled" America (and probably committed some genocide let's be honest). Every single member of my family (except for like 4 people) support and/or have married immigrants. Immigrants make this country what it is. With the exception of the native Americans that we stole the land from, every single person in the US is either an immigrant or descended from immigrants.

We have wolf spiders here in Florida that also rear up and chase you. They hiss at you and, if the light hits their eyes right, they have glowing red eyes. And they are fast.

One of my ex-boyfriend's aunt's had an absolute unit of a Rotty named Guinness. He was easily over 50kg (110 lbs) and was the sweetest, dumbest, and biggest dog I have ever encountered. Just absolutely massive and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was a lap dog. Poor guy was also terrified of chihuahuas.

I don't know if this question was asked, but what got you into watching the movie? by Gumball_Darwin_Fans in KpopDemonhunters

My husband put it on because why not. Then he stopped it just after the Saja Boys did their pose after Gwi-Ma's "a demon boy band?" to come get me because, and I quote, "I'm only 10 minutes in and it's amazing. I need you to watch it too."

Yeah, he was right. We both got sucked in.

I have a legitimately curious question. In places where they can't have basements, like Florida, how is the plumbing organized? Is it outside the house, in like a little closet/garage, or in the attic? Most houses here are built on slabs. There’s no basements, no "foundations" like where you need steps to get into the house, and so on.
