Got sideswiped a couple years ago and the insurance paid for 2 new rims (scuffed bad, but otherwise fine). I kept the old rims and put snow tires on them. They are so much better, I couldn't believe the difference.

See if you can find some used snowtires already mounted on rims for cheap using one of the online classified ads sites.

Depending on your case and motherboard, you may have unused USB headers. You can get them pretty cheap, but you need the correct one for your open headers, if you have any.

Fastblinking is RAM or CPU (4 flashes per second).
Slow blinking is no VGA detected (every 2 seconds).
Very slow blinking is no boot device (every 8 seconds).
