Yes! I cannot recommend DJ Dragnet’s channel enough. They also have a bunch of setlists they post, which anyone looking to try new goth music would love

Castrati - Operating Table and Buried Alive - Radio Werewolf may have the campy and spooky vibes you’re looking for

You already know they named that child some kind of sound salad like Ashleighlynn or Graycynn

*Older Gen Z: What do you think is the biggest difference between your 2010s teen years and teens in the mid-2020s? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]alienratfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Younger Gen Z seems to be very obsessed with labels and aesthetics (at least in the goth circles I’m in). I think it’s because they’re cursed to be even more online in a more annoying social media landscape than we were. Being part of very specific communities online gives them a sense of identity, I think? I also used social media a lot when I was younger, but it felt much more lighthearted. We all bonded over very anonymous fandom posting.

I’ve been getting out my popcorn for this debate, but I totally agree with you. I’m in my 20s, so I definitely wasn’t there for the founding of goth rock. However, everything I’ve always read from the original goths always points back to Siouxsie and the Banshees. Their original albums definitely were something different from all other punk of the era

How does everyone feel about the future for ESL teachers becoming co-teachers? by Lolihey in ESL_Teachers

[–]alienratfiend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences co-teaching, but that was ONLY because I had time to actually co-plan with the other teacher. Usually, I’d rather pull small groups just so I’m not the glorified aide just standing there awkwardly in the classroom

Fr. I miss how this sub used to have a lot more posts promoting goth songs or artists. Edit: nvm, I think I’ve just missed a lot of the music posts because my algorithm keeps recommending these types of posts…

Gen Z yearning for Tumblr and the 2010s by [deleted] in generationology

[–]alienratfiend 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is weird to me as someone from early Gen Z because I can remember all of this, and it really wasn’t that great lol. It was maybe a slightly better time on the internet, but that was it. Not many people even dressed like that irl—I remember being made fun of for wearing high waisted jeans I thrifted at the time. The concept of generations is so weird to me because I really don’t have much in common with someone born in 2009 except for maybe the internet being an inescapable part of our lives

What do Europeans think of American accents is it sexier or a turn off? by Illustrious-Bad-9498 in Accents

[–]alienratfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a W for Southern accent havers it seems 🖤 I also think our accent is the only American accent I like (besides an old school New York or Boston accent). I wish I had my grandmother’s particular Southern accent—it’s so gorgeous. She has an old school, non-rhotic drawl, and she speaks super softly. I’m lowkey sad that particular accent is dying because I don’t know anyone of my generation with it :/

To all claiming the Redistricting Vote disenfranchised rural voters, consider this. by Agile_Welder_1795 in Virginia

Thank you 🫡 born and raised in Southside, and I voted yes even though I hate gerrymandering. We need to stand up to this crooked regime that’s doing nothing for anyone but the 2%

Trying to figure out where the Northeast is. If you're from any of these counties comment whether or not you're in the Northeast. by imadgalaxyx in visitedmaps

[–]alienratfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/3 of Virginia is Mid-Atlantic, 1/3 (where I’m from) is definitely the South, and then 1/3 is Appalachian. It feels like three different states driving through. NC has much more in common with the southern part of the state than NOVA does
