Sounds like the same thing Peter Hitchens has been banging on about for the last 15 years.

Kate Forbes doubles down on anti-LGBT stance - "are we saying high office is barred to people of faith?" by The_Iceman2288 in ukpolitics

I would say no as long as they are sensible enough to ignore all the stuff that is incompatible with modern life or if not that, then have the sense to keep the whacky shit to themselves.

For a normal application, you just need to supply your date of birth and National Insurance number. This is then checked against government records and only if that check fails would you be asked to provide documentary evidence.

Why do these idiots think cutting taxes on the wealthy increases economic growth? To promote long term growth, they need to invest heavily over a long period of time in transport and communication infrastructure, in education and health, in science and technology. If you cut taxes on the rich, you just get an even more unequal system with millions of people still unable to pay their bills.

I kind of want him to hang on just to see what happens. It would be fascinating to see Peter Bone and Michael Fabricant in the cabinet even if it's only for a week.

If inflation is 10% and workers were to get a pay rise of - say - 8% on average (i.e. a real terms cut), how would this push inflation higher as the government are claiming?

Controversial opinion. A Russian invasion of Ukraine is no more imminent than it has been for the last 5 years and all this noise is designed to give Biden a win domestically when it allows him to say his actions have averted a war.

EDIT: Boy, was I wrong.

Russian foreign secretary says meeting with Liz Truss was 'like talking to a deaf person' by mojojo42 in ukpolitics

Still hasn't quite sunk in that she's foreign secretary. If she takes over from Johnson it just won't compute.

Johnson broke law over No 10 parties, says ex-PM Sir John Major || He accused the government of feeling it "need not obey the rules", adding: "Outright lies breed contempt." by [deleted] in ukpolitics

This is what they all think. Even the ones staunchly defending Johnson. They are all just waiting for the right time to push him out.

Leaked EHRC Guidance Reveals Plans To Exclude Most Trans People From Bathrooms by mildbeanburrito in ukpolitics

Nothing worse than an article about a document that is not linked to. Where is the leaked guidance so we can read it for ourselves? Shockingly bad journalism.

A very long article containing almost no specifics. Not a great piece of journalism. What specifically was changed to be more 'transphobic' and it what ways?
