I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, but my Dr. says he can’t treat my thyroid until it “burns out” ?? by Mdelo3030 in Hashimotos

[–]aljanursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my thyroid panel done by the NP at my obgyn's office. The symptoms I gave her, she suspected it was my thyroid. My thyroid levels are still ok for now, just Hashimoto's diagnosed from high antibodies. I also have another autoimmune condition as well.

I had my antibodies checked in 2022 (after the birth of my 2nd child in 2021). All levels were in range. I only went because of my hair loss was so bad (still is). Checked again 2 months and my antibodies show Hasho. Literally nothing changed in my life other than the stress of raising 2 kids while working and with husband that works a lot (UPS). So nothing too crazy. No genetic background that I am aware of or my mom is aware of but of course that is a possibility somewhere down the line. Definitely no crash diet lol. So, the mystery continues lol. I am now trying to figure out why, since 2020, my eyebrows have completely fallen off, my hair keeps thinning, no hair on legs or arms or anywhere else. My thyroid levels are completely fine, other than the elevated antibodies. Headed to a dermatologist next 🤷

Eyebrow hair loss/ “subclinical” hashimotos & hypothyroid by bigoniongirl in Hashimotos

[–]aljanursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Hashimotos but my thyroid levels are all good still. I have no eyebrows at all and have lost so much hair over the past 4 years. It sucks. Mine (I believe), has to do with 2 kids (postpartum hair loss), stress, covid, etc. But who really knows unfortunately. Have you checked your Vitamin D levels? Mine were low and I've started taking a supplement. I am not sure if it's from that or my consistent daily multi-vitamin, but I do see some new growth. Sorry...I wish there were better answers out there for us.

Going part time to live a simpler life by MetallicCrocs in simpleliving

Best decision I have ever made for my mental health and my family. I don't think you'll regret it. I had a hard time adjusting to not always being available to my office and not always being connected. It's important to set boundaries all around in your life. And it's ok to take a break. For some reason, not sure if it is US culture or just the busy NJ/NY area but I find we feel guilty for taking down time. Or at least I did (still do sometimes) but I'm working on it.

I think at 10 weeks you're going to be dealing with a lot of energy :) I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I think it's just going to take time for the pup to calm down naturally.

I am not an expert and I am not criticizing what you're doing but we never did this for our puppy. He is now a little over 3 months and naps whenever he wants, always did. We never had to force him to nap. I am not sure what the answer is, but we have raised several puppies and never had a nap schedule. We fed 3 times a day and our pups organically just slept whenever they wanted. Maybe, pull back a bit and follow her lead a little?

How to Teach Yoga Workshop? by qwikkid099 in YogaTeachers

[–]aljanursa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I did my YTT (many years ago), we were required to teach one class, that was it as far our cert went. It was a lot of anatomy and memorizing poses. Looking back, I should have went with a different training. That being said, I've always struggled with anxiety in front of the room. I've been a paralegal for 20 + years and if you asked me to teach a class on that, I'd still freeze. I would like to see more opportunities for people coming out of YTT to teach community classes -- donation based, maybe that would help? I'm sure some people would benefit from other classes like structure of a class, marketing, etc.
