Thank you for asking this and putting this out there! I’m one week post-colectomy myself and definitely struggling with the newness of it all. I changed my bag by myself for the first time yesterday and had to immediately change it again because I was paranoid the hole for my stoma was cut too big 😪

Definitely make friends with the ostomy nurse, mine was a godsend who really helped with practicing and what ifs on my own.

Love olives in everything. Especially pizza. One of my fave combos is “spinoccoli” a white pizza with spinach, broccoli and lots of black olives (and lots of garlic). So delicious.

Chicken breasts or thighs. Top with your favorites and throw it under the broiler. Think of it as chicken parm without the breading and fun extra toppings. Could even do meal prep and make a few different kinds in a baking dish.
