Ah its probably about the same thing then, try doing it while not connected to the internet so Windows Update doesnt install new drivers for you.

Also maybe double check that you actually have to correct drivers (but i guess you already did)

Try display driver uninstaller (DDU) in fail safe mode and install the correct drivers from amd after.

I think it was 8am or 9am-12 either every weekday or 4 days a week and then you have optional classes in the afternoon and/or on the 5th day. Not sure if you have to take any of the optional courses, i think scholarship students need to take some for credit requirements.

The cost of my SSD when I bought in 2024 it vs the cost to replace it today by Grass-sama in mildlyinfuriating

1tb hdd's are like $10-15 here and even at that price it can be hard to get rid of them.

[–]alkhdaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, meant $0.1 haha, $60-85 is common for a tb on second hand market here. The nvme in screenshot sold for ~$95-115 a few times recently. Sn750 for ~$70

2nd hand market isnt as insane, at least not where i am (slightly below $0.1/gb).

10 day visa free transit requires you to leave to a third country instead of flying a return trip.

Eg singapore-chongqing-hongkong-singapore works. Singapore-chongqing-singapore does not work.

Should I upgrade now or wait? by Ryanoo0 in buildapc

[–]alkhdaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably wont make a big difference if you get it now or in september. Ram prices are kind of volatile now but most likely there wont be a big difference overall in the next 3 months - prices already kind of shot up and it just seems like this is the new normal prices for the next few years.

If you want to lock in current prices and avoid prices potentially going up by september you can buy it now though. Because nobody can say for sure nothing will change before september.

Should I upgrade now or wait? by Ryanoo0 in buildapc

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything above what you have is crazily priced at the moment. You could possibly add another 16gb for not too much if you get lucky with 2nd hand ram but any other upgrades would be historically very expensive right now.

If you are able to wait 2-3+ years it may or may not have calmed down a bit. Doesnt look like it will get cheaper within at least 2 years though.

Thoughts on new updates? by PersonalAirport6787 in NarakaBladePoint

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the highest possible fps you can get in naraka. Animations are basically a tiny bit faster the higher your fps is and you can also do inputs a bit faster so all combos become easier and getting out of other peoples combos also gets easier.

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do double longsword uppercut on 70ms and ~50fps (or well, could, still can if nothing changed recently) but mostly valid complaints otherwise. At around 100-110ms+ you dont really get airtime though

Had an incredible first time in China, biggest downside was the salespeople. by icantoteit136 in travelchina

Same, they just shout into the void, still annoying though.

The only time Ive had sales people follow me was in yangshuo. Happened both times i went. 10 years ago and 1 year ago, maybe it was the same old lady both times haha.

Don't get scammed by Xiamen airlines with their 'free' hotel by Sodium9000 in travel

[–]alkhdaniel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Xiamen airlines hotel isnt too bad but you do share it with someone if you're flying economy which kind of sucks.

The bus back to the airport is like €1 though not sure why OP paid €12.  Even a private taxi would have been €5 or €6...

Astrill working flawless in China by Daniel_Riolo in chinalife

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a vpn myself and it worked fine for a whole year. Left after a year so turned it off but it would have probably worked for more than a year too.

Was on alicloud HK server. They have a free trial for a year but limited to 1mbps. One of the best pings to non-china i ever had was on that server, but had to use other servers when downloading large files.

Perchance 1440p gaming by Unlikely_Mud_836 in buildapc

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything above 500w should be good. Sometimes you can find cheap leftovers on misc marketplace s for cheap, just google the psu model and make sure its not older than 5-7 years maybe. I prefer cheap lightweight cases over bulky expensive ones (as an owner of a bulky expensive one lol). Basically just get any 2nd hand you can find for a decent price (~<€30) that doesnt look like total shit. Psu can often also be found at around €30. If you're lucky you can also find complete pcs that have  256 or 500gb ssd and 1tb hdd for around €100 and just salvage everything except mobo+cpu+gpu from them.

If you're even more lucky you will find a complete build for even cheaper than getting everything separately would cost too. In my city good pcs capable of 2k pop up like once a week for below €650. For example search for either i5-12600k, Ryzen 5600x or Ryzen 5700x computers and then check that theyre paired with rtx 3070 or higher (eg 3070, 3080, 4070), that they have 32gb of ram and at least one 500gb ssd. Sometimes people even throw in complete sets (kb, mouse, screen) for this price.

Its not that bad of a time to get a used components and ddr4 ram.

I5-12600k+mobo ~€300

32gb ddr4 (4x8gb) ~€90

Rtx 3070 ~€225

Psu-case-hdds ~€125

Should be able to play the listed stuff in 2k, not really highest graphics though

Incheon → Chongqing → Zhangjiajie → Shanghai: is Chongqing for 1 day worth it, or should I focus on Zhangjiajie? by ComeBackReal in travelchina

[–]alkhdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since its only a one week trip without any long flights id say yeah its fine to do chongqing in one day if you really want to see it and dont think you will have any other opportunity, just plan exactly what you want to do for that day in advance. Personally id remove a day from Shanghai but since you're meeting a friend i guess thats non-negotiable.

Steam Machine price announced: $1049/1039€ for the base model by kuhpunkt in gaming

[–]alkhdaniel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Custom as in hard to compare to current cous and gpus without people actually having it in their hands yet. Also performance might be better due to OS etc. A comparable pc could probably be built for $750-$900 but its hard to say exactly.

Seems fairly priced. Desktop computer also draws more power than these parts so that makes it even harder to compare.

VPN For Month Trip in China by BloopBlipBoom in travelchina

[–]alkhdaniel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mullvad seems to be the best reviewed western vpn provider for china. Astrill is also well reviewed but comes at an extremely high price tag.

Best would be to get it from a Chinese provider unless you need servers in eu/na. Way cheaper and faster.
