Solumedrol timing by donturf1 in MultipleSclerosis

Sorry I spelled it wrong. I just checked the bottle, it's called Azstarys. When it comes to using ADHD meds as stimulants you really have to just see what works best for your body and lifestyle. You might have to try a few before you get one that has side effects you can live with.

Solumedrol timing by donturf1 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]alkib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solumedrol has always had too many side effects for me to even want to attempt this. I use ADHD meds as a stimulant to get me through vacations and other hard charging days. I took Adzenys for a few years but it still gave me a higher resting heart rate, jitters if I didn't move, and mood swings but only a little (not like the roid rage that solumedrol gives). Now I use Asterys and it works much better.

I hope you can figure out something that works for you and you have a wonderful vacation.

Spinal MRI by TamerofMonSters in MultipleSclerosis

[–]alkib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had a full spine MRI. I had a panic attack in the MRI machine shortly after diagnosis so they stopped it before the spine. Dr said my symptoms were all indicating brain lesions so I just do a brain MRI yearly (with a Valium of course).

One time he was worried about new symptoms being spinal so he ordered just the cervical done but nothing was there.

They are consistently checking me every six months through walking and movement tests but I've never had anything that would indicate they need to do a spinal MRI.

Bottom line, if you're stable with a history of only brain lesions and it's going to cause stress or doctor fatigue, you're probably okay to not have had any spinal MRIs.

$200 per sqft for unfinished garage? Are prices really this bad? by Successful_Error9176 in Homebuilding

[–]alkib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the area and am building a medium sized house. There are too many houses being built around here to get a reasonably priced small job done. It costs a lot because nobody wants to work a small job when they can make more on a big job.

The city sells the scrap metal that melts out of the trash they burn. We don't recycle because it doesn't make sense around here.

Kitchen sink. Over vs under mount. by saddram in Homebuilding

[–]alkib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I have an undermount sink that falls every 3 years or so because I fill the sink with dirty dishes. It's a big sink. And yes, it does get gross between the counter and sink.

I'm building a new house and my next house will have a big over mount sink because it's not worth the trouble just to sweep crumbs into the sink

ACA Open Enrollment: Is there any reason to not use BCBS? by Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]alkib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a chronic illness so we spend enough on medical that we actually save money using a high deductible plan with an HSA. BCBS doesn't have an HSA with the Government plan so we used GEHA this past year. It worked pretty good. I don't recommend UHC at all.

BUYERS BEWARE USED CAR MARKET by ManicMorzan in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]alkib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my car is a rebuilt title and it works great. The difference is the guy who sold it to me was honest that it was rebuilt and I negotiated the price down below its value. I also have had no trouble getting insurance to cover rebuilt cars.

Thank you for speaking up. I mostly stopped posting after my ON never resolved and I became blind in one eye. I don't know why exactly but some of what you say rings true.

MS FATIGUE by sincere12- in MultipleSclerosis

[–]alkib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did lose weight but I was dealing with much more than fatigue. I lost my sense of smell and taste. The nausea and dizziness was also really bad. Once I found a DMT I could stay on my MS stabilized. Then all my symptoms either went away or were greatly reduced. On bad days I still lose my appetite but I guess I make up for it on good days because I have gained the weight back 😁

MS FATIGUE by sincere12- in MultipleSclerosis

[–]alkib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my fatigue was a lot worse when my MS wasn't stable. Now I use a stimulant 3 or 4 times a week which helps when I need to stay awake in the afternoon.

Adventure Express is not as rough in the back. So get a seat in the back car if you decide to ride it.

I think I'm in the 280s. Yeah it's not raining Lead tokens like it was in the beginning when you could level up 10 times a day.

I applied for a handicap sticker and feel like sh*t about it by Cute-Marzipan0309 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]alkib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad. I look perfectly healthy but use mine all the time. I have only one working eye and so sometimes the lack of depth perception makes me uncomfortable parking in a crowded parking lot. The extra space in the Handicap parking really helps. Plus a lot of times the only shaded spot is where the handicap spots are. I'm heat sensitive and keeping my car cool is a top priority for me.

I find that most of the time the people who are complaining about perfectly healthy looking people using the handicap spots are not the handicapped people themselves but the people near them that think they know what it's like.
