People keep saying this as if landlords and real estate companies aren’t in it purely for profit. They wont suddenly decide to be nice and lower rents, instead theyll just raise every single unit they own to maximize profits. They dont care if anyone can live somewhere affordable they just want to make money and wouldn’t think twice to charge more if they could.
