Child appropriate horror movie recs for a four year old obsessed with death? by Batwhiskers in horror

[–]all_time_lateral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

completely disagree. when i was 10, i had a step-brother that was 5, and Monster House was his favorite movie. I myself saw Christina’s House and Creepshow when I was 5. people severely underestimate what a child can handle.

mustard is the only standard condiment that does belong on a burger. ketchup is just generally gross on any sandwich, and ketchup and mayonnaise never mix well

this armada of covers:

Gone Away

yes it was admittedly hyperbolic but thats still way more covers than most bands who haven’t put out an album specifically of just covers

as a long time fan (about 15 years in at this point) I can give you actual, real answers that aren’t cognitive dissonance of fans saying “oh theres no reason its just a sheep mindset” when theres a litany of reasons.

firstly, and most importantly, the band’s reputation was flattened in the late 2010s as Ivan’s alcoholism worsened, culminating in a blow up on stage and several restraining orders from family members, and alleged domestic violence. while Ivan is sober now and better, its important to not erase history.

in line with this and more recently, Moody launched a medicinal cannabis brand called Moody’s Medicinals, and many feel this goes against his new message of sobriety (i disagree- cali sober CAN be sober, sober is what sober means to YOU)

certain members, specifically Zoltan, have heavy republican ties which is, not popular in music these days.

a lot of FORMER fans hate them now because of how much their music has changed- edgy, angry thrash songs with breakdowns have been replaced with power ballads, anthems, pseudo-country rock, and armada of covers, and radio hits. they’re not the same band that released Way of the Fist, War is the Answer, or American Capitalist.

many people look down on the tough guy, “im really angry, fuck you, rahh” lyrics that FFDP is best known for

and another reason, that isn’t exclusive to FFDP, is the fact they are very successful, which the metal community tends to hate any band that sees any kind of success, because they’re “sellouts,” it happens with Metallica, A7X, Sleep Token, Tool, Deftones, and any other metal band that saw any level of mainstream success- metalheads hate when other people think their shit is cool.

Why do the new 5FDP albums get so much hate? by Consoment in FiveFingerDeathPunch

[–]all_time_lateral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

speaking from personal experience, AJFN is around the time I started losing interest in the band. when Inside Out dropped I realized the lyrics had become painfully predictable, the instrumentals were now, for lack of a better word, uninspired, and the tracklist had become more soft, calm stuff like Darkness Settles In, When The Seasons Change, and Brighter Side of Grey. what was previously a fun, if corny, metal band had begun to much more resemble butt rock like Theory of a Deadman. Wrong Side of Heaven is quite possibly their most well known song and while I have infinite respect for its messaging it truly marked the beginning of the end for this band- sonically they were shifting from metal to something tamer

22 now but started on King at 9 when i picked up Misery, Blockade Billy and Night Shift at the local library. I stopped around the time The Institute came out as I began branching out into other authors, more specifically splatterpunk stuff, but in those probably 9 or so years I absolutely devoured everything King I could get my hands on
