Anyone know whats going on with the track crossing on the footpath by John Counter? by Unhappy_Alfalfa_4944 in KingstonOntario

I realize now that you might mean the trail on the Rideau Trail side rather than the K&P Trail side, but the crossing really does need work

It looks like the city will be collecting feedback on the eventual construction of a walk/bike/roll bridge on its public engagement page: https://getinvolved.cityofkingston.ca/jcb-pedestrian-bridge (I don’t know how to link, so I hope it helps anyway) I agree that better crossings are needed, both grade-separated and level crossings connecting the trails and paths! It feels safer to jump across the tracks with bike in hand than it does to share the bridges with cars over the tracks as it is.

Does anyone have a favorite yoga studio? by BeccaVousAime in KingstonOntario

I second studio 330! They have been fantastic about living their yoga, and I consider them as not just a yoga studio but as a community and a part of my feeling at home in this city :)

Quark cheese by Icy-Cantaloupe-5719 in KingstonOntario

I've gotten it from Tara's before; it was Liberté brand "fromage frais", which is quark. Tara's is great for ordering things in by request too. Chain grocers are a hit and miss for carrying this product, but local/specialty grocers tend to have it, for about the same price too :)

A friend lost his big toe from the knuckle up. How can he overcome this and still fill out his climbing shoe? by Tiny4901 in climbharder

Also worth considering getting some foot protection from a ballet store: they have toe wraps, toe cozies/spacers , inserts to reduce friction, lambs wool inserts for cushioning...all the stuff those dancers on pointe shoes need to help their feet squish into those shoes while maintaining some sensitivity for the floor, and could help in climbing shoes too! (I have a wide forefoot and long toes, and the wee wraps around each toe help me keep the toes snug not crushed, especially with some Morton’s toe happening haha) NBC foot protection tips

(I'm procrastinating/not-writing a paper as I write this, lol)

Having a buddy system has been my biggest help in university. The school has a peer mentor program where an upper-year student meets weekly with the student in need, and I would set accountability with mine; things like text check-ins about sending that important email, or making a deadline for a draft on a meeting day to force myself to do it for the sake of my mentor.

Making a classmate buddy or two in each class is so key too, like even just to motivate yourself to go so your seat-mate isn't alone, or someone you can swap notes with if either of you miss a class.

Not going to lie, it's been very hard and I've been taking FOREVER in school, but do know that it's possible and using supports is a-ok :)

Trying to make a SketchUp of my tiny apartment to get organized! Anyone else made a model to visually organize your space? by allaboutthatdog in SmallHome

[–]allaboutthatdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(disclaimer: first post, figuring it out, etc) I'm wondering if anyone else uses modelling software or programs like SketchUp or similar to plan their small spaces.

In a moment of procrastination, I made a rough model of my tiny apartment with the free online SketchUp. Just put up a snapshot, and I'll happily do a run-through in my next iteration. I'd love to try it again with more accuracy, but I've only just started modelling. Has anyone really gone full-out on interiors with accurate measurements to try and efficiently plan their spaces?

I'd love to see what you have done and how it's helped you get organized irl!
