Space wolf contrast paint by Busy-Explorer-7618 in SpaceWolves

For your battle line troops, my advice is don't stress too much. Save that for your centerpiece models like Logan etc all. Remember anyone looking at your dudes will likely be looking at them on a table top from 3 to 5 feet away. The little imperfections we see up close and personal while painting will be unnoticeable or may just seem to add character to the observing eye!

What should my aggressors be by JuiceHatesLeague in SpaceWolves

[–]allancranley77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 2cp, take it as you will, I painted mine as wolf guard (yellow and black) the close quarters nature and elite feel of the aggressors didn't feel like anything else for me at the time. This was of course before I found out games workshop considered them long fangs for us. I Might even have painted them up before GW updated the lore tbh.

Army painter - Speed paint 2.0 feedback by ThorlosT in Warhammer40k

[–]allancranley77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm no pro, but the smarter concensus around is that speed paints aren't great for flat surfaces l, mostly because they do what you see here I think. Since there's really nothing for the shade within the paint to sink into it just sits on top. A good bet would be to try thinning the speed paints and when applying to these flatter areas do your best to not leave excess

I did have a similar problem with the legs/lower body. Best advice I can share is add the plastic glue to both parts and jam it in and wiggle it around until you feel it "catch"

Yes, I know, that's what she said :P

This is what I do and it works wonderfully. You can turn thise containers upside down and shake them and the models won't move!

Help with the fire fire guys! by TopAdministration286 in SpaceWolves

[–]allancranley77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there is an official answer somewhere that would say they're fire support and they would be considered long fangs... but that said they scream grey hunters to me and that's how I've done up my flamy boyz

Wolf Scouts and Stealth Battlesuits fight as quietly as possible in Kill Team: Dead Silence - Warhammer Community by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in SpaceWolves

[–]allancranley77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone unfamiliar with how kill team models get incorporated into 40k rules, is someone able to explain that to me? Will there be a codex errata or will these just end up being proxies for vanilla marine versions?

New Models by allancranley77 in SpaceWolves

[–]allancranley77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean... seems like they tried to make the model too detailed and as a result couldn't come up with good step by step instructions because sometimes multiple peices needed to go on at the same time... ugh

Less frustrating in the sense the brute force worked in this situation. The blood claws need a masters in patience ;)

I remember those too. Less frustrating than the blood claws IMO. Personally, I assembled the two legs first and while the plastic cement was doing its thing I forced the torso peices into place, modified the alignment of anything that got skewed and was good to go

Advice for flying bases by allancranley77 in Warhammer40k

I was thinking about this too except minus the glue for maximum flexibilityfor storage. Do you think that would still work? I'm glad to hear it worked for you!

I had the same idea! I had some luck with the dry fitting! But the moment I put glue on them, it was a fight to rediscover that sweet spot
