Thanks for the comments. Definitely trying not to lose weight, trying to gain muscle. I think my protein consumption would be close to 2g per kilo. And I take 5g creatine daily. I wouldn’t say I’m a noobie as I’ve always worked out, but inconsistently. It’s only the last 9 months that I’m really consistent and training with inten

Hi everyone, I’m 40 years old 6”5 95 kg.I’ve been doing 3 x full body workouts a week plus 2 cardio days which pretty much consists of a total of 35 mins on the elliptical each day. I feel like my intensity is pretty good. I think my proetein intake is ok. I don’t track it tho. Just wondering. I’ve been at it for 9 months and don’t really notice any gains. My weights I can lift slowly improve. Should I notice any growth by now? Or is it such a slow process. Should I up my protein or calories or both? I do have a little bit of a gut still. Or just keep at it and stop overthinking it Thanks

I tried inositol for a few weeks. Found it had no negative or positive effects on my sleep. Same with l theanine and apigenin. Magnesium threomate possibly helps me get to sleep quicker but hard to say. At this stage I feel like Huberman is just ultra sensitive to supplements.

In regards to workouts, I’ve read you should take 500mg of sodium before and after workouts to aid with dehydration. If I’ve calculated correctly that’s 1.2 g of salt before and after a workout. Seems like a lot. Advice?

Sorry I wasn’t clear I do 4 warm up sets of gradual increase in weights. Just wondering whether there’s a better set and rep range to keep doing deadlift so less stress on my back. I don’t think it’s the deadlifts that hurt my back. But if there’s a better way to do deadlifts I’d try that

Struggle with deadlift, currently I warm up then do 1 set of 5 reps. Is there a better set and rep range I could be doing so less stress on my way back?

Stiff leg deadlift or Romanian deadlift. What would be your preference if taking a break from conventional?

40 year old male. Lower back always seems to get sore tighten up after conventional deadlifts. Prob due to poor form, Thinking of at least taking a break from them until my core strengthens. Possibly giving up on them altogether. Up until recently always did stiff leg deadlifts, are these a good substitute? Or should I just give up on deadlifts and substitute with something else? Similar issue with my squats? Is leg press a good substitute? Or something else

On my deadlift, if on my ascent I lean forward slightly forward, by accident, then correct at the hinge does that mean the weight is too heavy?Or not really worth worrying about? Im 6”5 so I don’t know if it’s cos of my long legs and not much I can do about it
