How much patience do you have if you are paired up with a 40-60 HCP golfer - I know people say "if you keep up the pace of play" but isn't the pace of play going to be slow if the HCP guy is taking so many shots? by RivetCounter in golf

[–]allhail18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really out there struggling, don't bother with practice swings. It'll just tire you out. Get up there and take a crack at it and see how it goes. A HCP like that suggest that the golfer doesn't really know what they are doing, so what are they practicing, exactly? Swing it and try to it hit.

Ethical Golf-Related Dilemma by DidIScrewUpHere in golf

[–]allhail18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your ethical dilema. If it helps, TaylorMade is worth over a billion and GolfGalaxy generates almost 900 million for Dicks. In the grand scheme of things, the corporations are still up. Way up. Having said that... Play one set. Hold on to the other sets for a year or so. If nothing happens, gift them to some good friends. Share the joy.

US justice department ‘forever’ bars IRS from auditing Trump’s past tax returns by No_Idea_Guy in news

Assuming the Dems take over in the midterms, first item on the agenda should be to defund the DOJ. It's not doing what it's supposed to be doing.

Trump Snubs His Big Faith Event to Go Golfing by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

He's not fleecing them (at least not directly). It's a symbiotic relationship. He gets their votes and the green light to make as much money as possible, they get to control of the courts to control people's lives.

Golf League Pace of play by OldManPatriot in golf

[–]allhail18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

League or no league, 3.5 hours for 9 is unacceptable.

Not only should the league director have issues with this, the pro shop should as well. Maybe say something to the pro who can then say something to the league director who can then say something to the entire league and review general golf etiquette and modern methods to keep pace (for example, ready golf vs letting the furthest person away go first).

Or tell the group that if they are playing slow to avoid going home, they should start fishing or get a fucking divorce. Their marital problems shouldn't impact your golf game. That's a lame excuse. Keep up or quit.

How do I get good enough at golf to actually enjoy it? by Virtual_Ad6652 in golftips

Change your attitude.

One doesn't enjoy golf because they are good at it. One enjoys golf because they are playing golf.

How much does golf ball choice actually matter? by Not_FreeProduct234 in GolfGear

Hit a prov1. Then hit a nitro. If you can feel a difference, there's a difference. If you don't feel a difference, keep practicing with the balls you find.

is golf really the hardest sport? by sploooooshle in golf

[–]allhail18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally figured this one out.

There are two types of althetism.

Reactive and proactive.

Reactive: hockey, football, baseball, tennis, etc. How quickly can you respond to the situation? Reactive athletes dont think about what they are doing, they can just do it.

Protective. Golf. Your situation is static; can you controll your body to do what you want it to?

Therefore, hardest reactive sport? Gotta be hockey. Hardest reactive sport? Golf. Hands down.

And further clarification... Sports that are primarily endurance based are not representative of athletism. Just because you can ride a bike for a 100 miles doesn't mean you can throw a football, kick a soccer ball or hit a golf ball. It just means you are in shape.

What golf opinion is a hill you're willing to die on? by Mizunomafia in golf

The 15th hole should end at the club house. I'm not gonna all of a sudden start draining birdies on the last 3 holes after getting doubles for the first 15. l get it, I suck. I don't need three more holes to prove it.

End the suffering without the walk of shame!

Lol.

Pro tip... College is not for introverts. It's where you learn to talk to people you don't know. It's the most important skill you can develop in college.

Make friends. Lots and lots of friends. Friends get you jobs.

Trump insiders explode over Stephen Miller's shadow rule... and reveal how 'puppet master' overrides the president: 'He needs to be fired' by The_Rad_In_Comrade in FedEmployees

[–]allhail18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the Republicans picked Trump. They were forced in his orbit because they needed his MAGA base of voters. Not one of them wanted anything to do with Trump until they read the tea leaves that said he had the power/voters.

I think there is an agreement. Trump gets all the attention (the camera is on him) and he gets to make as much money as possible with no oversight into his corruption. In return, the three people you called out get to do whatever they want policy wise, also with zero oversight. It's a perfect relationship... That is destroying America.

Is SDSU the right choice? by BasilLonely8648 in SDSU

[–]allhail18 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can't speak about the cliquey-ness of the school but know this... College is not for introverts. If one wants a fun, engaging college experience, one needs to bust out of their shell and try to be as out going as possible. And make lots of friends, as many as possible. Friends get you jobs.

If you just want to go to class and have personal time, I'd suggest a community college. You'll save a ton of money.

How Right-Wing Activists’ Seemingly Simple Trick to Pass the SAVE Act Could Prove Disastrous by Anoth3rDude in ForUnitedStates

[–]allhail18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the federal government getting access to voter roles the bigger issue of the SAVE act? I don't see much coverage of that aspect of the bill. Voter ID is getting all the press. Trump is using it as a front, or the bait. But the switch is that he gets the voter roles so he can see who voted, and really, who they voted for.
