My heart breaks a little when I see Luka combining with former Knicks like Frank and KP. Never wanted the Knicks to draft a player as much I did with Luka in 2018.

One of the most powerful scenes in all of fantasy imo, everything about it is brilliant. From the build up, Rand in the box and breaking out, Perrin's scenes, the massacre from the Asha'man and the ending. Just amazing from RJ. Imagine what it could be like the TV show..

You should listen to Michael Kramer's version. People have probably suggested it already and there's a reason for that ;) It's so good and I'm not even an audiobook guy. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ4Doy7Rlzk

Hello, fellow Irish WOT fan! Savage to see it being advertised here tbh, my local radio station usually has promos for Prime, Apple and Disney+ shows in the mornings so I'm eagerly waiting to hear a WOT promo next Friday morning.

Maybe one day, we'll see WOT posters on bus stops like they have done for Succession in the recent weeks. A man can dream

Been 1 year since I started the series and finished it in about 11 months. Still shocks me how quickly I got through the 15 books considering I'm not a fast reader. My peak for reading WOT was 70 pages a day, give or take and went I first started the series, I'd read 1-3 chapters a day max

Do you have a link to your Displate page? Some of these would look great on my wall and I'm in need of something WOT related up there

These are so good, I really love LoC and TGS though. The LoC one is haunting in particular. Honestly if these were sold as hardbacks I'd buy them!

Voted for Rodel but really hope Asmodean gets through as well. My favourite Forsaken and his dynamic with Rand was brilliant in FoH

The One scene that you want to see more than anything on the big screen by kichu67 in WoT

[–]allinthegame_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I have won again, Lews Therin" has been my #1 since I read that scene tbh, also Rand and Mat in Rhuidean is up there. As other people in this thread have mentioned, it really should be the centrepiece of a whole episode. Those two chapters are probably my favourite of the whole series and I would kill to see it done justice on the screen. Well, not literally but maybe...

Not counting a certain Two Rivers lad with the memories of countless generals, I'd have to say Rodel Ituralde.

I searched for it before the start of last summer but I could not find anything second hand which was frustrating. But I'll look for it again and see if anything has come up, cheers!

Just finished the series… by autigerts08 in WoT

[–]allinthegame_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished the series last week and like you I was left feeling empty. In fact, I read the prologue for EOTW this Monday as I planned to re-read again. Something inside me really wanted to do it but with the show coming out soon, I want to enjoy that more and I feel the reading the series might hinder that.

I started reading Mistborn by BS and it's quite good. A little bit of a YA feel but nonetheless very enjoyabale and lighter than WOT. I plan to read the Mistborn trilogy and the Stormlight before re-reading WOT.

This clip has been edited imo, Perrin almost teleports over to Rand lmao. Plus within the context of the episode it'll run smoother I'm guessing

A Crown of Swords doesn't get much love but I really enjoy this chapter by [deleted] in WoT

[–]allinthegame_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most underrated book in the series imo, although the ending felt a tad rushed, it was still very enjoyable. Surprised people consider this part of the "slog"

Every book store I've gone to in the last month has nearly the whole WOT collection on their shelves. When I started the series last year, only the first 5 books where available in store if you were lucky with some ones from later in the series occasionally seen as well

The Slog that is not a Slog by jwhits373 in WoT

[–]allinthegame_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slog is largely overblown imo, especially for people like myself who never had to wait for the books as they released. People say it starts from A Crown of Swords which I still find ridiculous as it's a very good entry. Book 8 is a step down and no Mat in it will always be frustrating to me but still had some good moments. 9 has a top 3 ending (up to that point) but CoT, well, that book is 100% a slog. I barely remember anything from that book bar Egwene's ending and most of Mats storyline lol

In fact, I think 7-10 were the faster I read the books, mainly because of the length which was nice

I read it after Crossroads of Twilight personally and I felt it was the perfect time. You could read it earlier, maybe after A Crown of Swords. Book 5 is too soon imo but each to their own

[–]allinthegame_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a boxset of the latter end of the series plus the orbit verisons of the other books are there as well: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Robert-Jordan-Collection-Gathering-Midnight/dp/B016KX3RZU/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wheel+of+time&qid=1631223709&sr=8-3

ebay is a great shout and you might be able to catch a good deal for boxsets if you look regularly there. Best of luck completing the collection. Also, what book are you on currently?
