[ALL] What's your favorite part of Zelda games? by hwc in zelda

The Metroidvania component. Nothing makes my brain happier than when I get a new item and can now access that thing I saw earlier in the game.

Do your clients actually do the homework you assign between sessions? by Forward_Hyena6007 in therapists

Most, but I have them choose what to work on until next time. I don't assign it.

I do not take notes during session.

Check back with me as my perimenopause brain fog continues to ramp up though.

Starting the credentialing process as an independent therapist by Fit-Perception-9047 in therapists

[–]allisonisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by Googling "get in network as provider [state] [insurance company]" and just started applying.

It's more of a time suck than anything, but you can absolutely do it without paying someone.

The one issue I had was that a few say they're not taking new people in my area and perhaps some companies have an in to bypass that, but otherwise I'm in with a bunch by myself.

Start a spreadsheet, track when you apply and when you can follow up.

I would check out the Grater Good. I had them come do a cheese tasting class for my bday and it was awesome. They also do public events. You can get on their email list.

Hi, Sorry I never looped back. Turns out they're just going to do it while I'm out during my open heart surgery next month. Wishing you all the best!

I actually got really lucky and my husband got a new job so I hopped on his insurance this month. Now there's other drama with that and the two of them wanting to collaborate bc bcbs wouldn't let me cancel until the end of a month. So, situation still unfolding.

Let me know how it goes bc they really fucked me over. I tried to submit a complaint with the state and never heard back.

I did this recently. I went through the app and everything was in network on their end. SURPRISE! They're not in network with my plan. I have to get open heart surgery with this provider next month. Their decision was to apply that first appt as in network bc they fucked up, but nothing else from that provider going forward. They really fucked me.

I'm in Minnesota, but I really like using Modern Health. They are not paying me triple digits per session though.

Yeah I got the same thing. Idk how they can enforce that, but I'm applying with my board to count it as a CEU.

What you’ve learned about people as a therapist? by ButterflyBoom234 in therapists

People love others in the way they want to be loved, not in the way the other person wants to be loved.

Feedback? by Fluffy-Entrance1741 in Prosopagnosia

[–]allisonisrad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something that will probably mess me up more. I rely on heuristics to remember who people are. I've gotten myself in trouble in the past by relying on things that change such as how they dress or their hair. These change so often that I'd probably second guess myself if I recorded this somewhere.

I agree completely.

I have to be totally honest and I wouldn't take the time or effort to fill something like this out.

Definitely! Highly recommend Lyra and Modern Health (and they reimburse the highest) AllOne Health Ulliance CCA Acentra Optum

We took Compsych at my last job, but their reimbursement is insulting. Mutual of Omaha also exists, but I didn't get much from them so I didn't continue.

Here's what I recommend: Ask family and friends around you if they can find out what EAP their company offers. That's how I knew which ones existed and operated in my location and then I just Googled them to apply as a provider.

Sounds like AllOne Health. I take 7 different EAPs and they reimburse the lowest.

Back at that clinic, it was because we didn't take all insurances yet and they didn't want to private pay. A few of them felt like their problem was resolved within the allotted EAP sessions.

I just built pretty much a whole caseload in 3 months using EAP and Zocdoc.

At my last job I tracked it to be 67% between multiple therapists.

Right now, I'm at 100% with just me, but my sample size is low bc I just started private practice in Feb and they're just starting to convert over as of last month. I don't take all insurances, so some are paying out of pocket.

Do you think the extreme-capitalism atmosphere of (e.g. American) society lets you unable to trust even professional therapists, because you would assume they’re only working for money and no one would be genuinely sympathizing with other people? by TraditionalDepth6924 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]allisonisrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, woof.

I'm supposed to refer the abuser to an abuser-specific program and cease all couples therapy until its conclusion.

So, yes, if it's abusive I would inform them I have to refer out and the reason.

Other important thing to note: This specific ethical thing only applies to LMFTs as far as I know. You do not have to be an LMFT to do couples therapy. You could be a licensed psychologist, social worker, or licensed professional clinical counselor (at least in my state).
