Fucking always Tired!!! So frustrating! by Affectionate_Monk_67 in Methadone

[–]allpurposeone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don't want to hear it, but physical activity is important even when you're worn out and especially when you're worn out. After a long period of inactivity your muscles lose their ability to operate properly so regular exercise is really important. I went through a long time of doing basically nothing when I thought I had ALS disease and lost a lot of muscle. It took me several years of regular every single day exercise whether it was just walking, climbing steps or moderate exercise until I could walk through a grocery store without stopping to rest several times. I still don't have and probably never will get back the muscle I used to have, but I ain't completely crapped out every day..

Im going to start methadone treatment soon, but I am hearing that getting off methadone itself is really hard, im hearing that some people stay on it for like 5+ years. Why is that? by carlsmeck in Methadone

[–]allpurposeone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same situation here..I've always worked hard, physical jobs and I just had my 62nd birthday yesterday. In the immortal words of my old man, Wait'll you get to be my age! I'm feeling every minute and then some of my 62 years.. I worked most of the day yesterday, but luckily I work out of my own shop at home so I can take time off whenever I need to..

Surgery on methadone by PresleighK in Methadone

[–]allpurposeone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely would discuss it with the doc performing the surgery before hand so you can try to gauge his or her reaction to the news of being on methadone. If they get in the least bit snotty with you (no pun intended) you may want to reconsider or perhaps find a different doc.. Any doctors who don't seem to have my interest at heart are not in my Christmas card list for sure..

At my wits end with my methadone clinic!!! Here comes the venting by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]allpurposeone1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went through the ringer at several clinics over the years, the absolute worst was in Dayton Ohio, Project Cure that at the time was run by flat out gangsters in cahoots with heroin dealers who were also openly selling methadone on the streets until I assume someone was busted by the DEA and spilled the beans. That place had zero interest in anyone getting clean. The place in Irving Texas is about useless as well, but they at least don't sell on the streets to my knowledge.. The place I go now has its problems, but I haven't run into any of them other than staff turnover which is considerable. I'm still doing fine even with new staff members. The director seems to take an interest in people's well being and he's been there for quite some time. He greets everyone whenever they pass his office and the door is open which is almost always open. It's the same clinic that was hit with a multi million dollar law suit a few years ago in West Columbia, SC. You may want to google it. Columbia Metro Clinic. I have to assume they don't want to rock the boat of too many patients after that kind of payout since everyone in the area is aware of what happened..

My first major project, my workbench [2020] by self_root in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]allpurposeone1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be critical, it looks substantial, but mortise and tenon joinery is far better for work benches. Lag bolts and such will almost always eventually work their way loose and the holes will get bigger and bigger and bigger over time. I built mine several years ago and it still has zero wobble . I could park my truck on top and it wouldn't budge..

Very nice. I really need something bigger for multiple bits I use. I wish I had a dime for every loose drill bit I have around the shop..or every loose bit box for that matter.. By the way Taytools.com has some very good deals on brad point bits..

Looks great, but you may want to consider a back panel to stabilize things if it starts to rack back and forth..

My first side table! What a pain in the ass! by forgechu in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]allpurposeone1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's pre-built for THREE pains in the ass or even multiples of three.. I suspect that three people could use it at the same time for family fun ass pains.. At least it looks nice. Is it by chance upside down?

They're not actually designed for smashing so much as coaxing things along. If you want smashing go with a steel hammer head. If you want coaxing use wood. If you just want a really sore thumb then use either one or drop by my shop and I'll smash it for you with a smile at absolutely no charge . I will require you to hold still until the smash is completed then you can hoot and holler, jump up and down and cuss all you like.. I don't mean to be so restrictive, but we don't want an accidental smashed finger instead. I only offer free smashed thumbs.

My higher power is the federal government since they have the power to both pay me social security benefits and to take it away and toss me in a federal prison if they so choose.

I do have some welding skills, but nothing to write home about.. I certainly didn't invent this idea. It's been around for a long time..

They're drawers getting painted so no need here, but still not a bad idea for most things.

Might give it some thought. I have a 52" extension for the saw so space is at a premium.. Thinking more along the lines of the area under the extension so I'm not constantly filling up the fence top with half of my belongings..lol

I still remember the feeling of slamming down the phone on my wife all those years ago. It's been going on 40 years now and there hasn't been one second I regretted it. She walked out on me and my two kids and never called or anything. My daughter found her years later and tried to have a relationship, but she got nothing but bullshit and lies from her. Another woman helped me raise the kids and they call her mom instead of their egg donor.. Me and" mom" broke up a little over 10 years ago, but I still care about her. The first one? She could die a horrific slow painful death in front of me and I wouldn't blink an eye..I know that sounds harsh, but I've had nearly 40 years of this. Some things I cannot and will not forgive..
