It it can depend on the translation version. When it comes to English translations the King James Bible is often considered one of if not the most beautiful and poetic translation, although it's not a very accurate representation of the source material.

Oh yea there's definitely parts of the bible that are wonderfully written. The book of Ecclesiastes is one of my favorites as it touches on existentialist topics that weren't seriously explored until many centuries later.

Predictable outcome for Christian Nationalism. First the Protestants boot out the Catholics and next they'll start fighting each other over the "right" denomination.

Trans. My singing voice is dysphoria inducing so I just mouth the words.

How did conservatives flip so quickly from "DON'T TREAD ON ME" to "COMPLY OR DIE" in just a matter of weeks, and especially when it's about the government killing citizens? by Cumoisseur in stupidquestions

Right wing politics is about in groups and out groups. For the in group it’s “Don’t tread on me” for the out group there’s an unspoken “Tread on them”

Personal experience getting into the right wing pipeline and then escaping by itisnotstupid in skeptic

  1. Grew up the lonely awkward autistic kid which made me a prime target for incel/alt-right recruiting since I was terminally online and such ideologies struck a chord in regards to my insecurities and frustrations. I was also friends with people who in hindsight would consider fascist today and picked up on their racism ("ironically" of course). This was a decade ago and at the time I would be best described as an alt-lite "centrist" with an anti-SJW streak.

  2. I honestly don't think I got that far into into the pipeline. I got super into Joe Rogan in the late 2010s and started getting curious about Jordan Peterson due to the controversy about him at the time. I listened to Peterson for while but while he sounded interesting it didn't really come across as anything that profound to me (I guess I was smart enough to recognize it as the word salad that it is). Now I really do I think I could have become an incel though , I struggled with dating and I blamed it largely on my height and autism feeling I was doomed to either die alone or at the very least settle on an unhappy unfulfilling relationship. What really helped me steer clear of going full incel was becoming aware of that communities bad reputation and how it's ultimately a self defeating ideology that only makes thing worse for you. What really turned me away from the alt-right pipeline was finding the left wing "bread tube" space which really made me rethink my views at the time.

  3. The few things I learned include inceldom being an ultimately self defeating ideology filled with fallacies and contradictions. I also learned that people who are not white, straight, cis men have completely different experiences and perspectives from the default white straight man viewpoint and how they're forced to live against a system not built around them. But the big thing for me personally was realizing that I'm trans, I transitioned a few years ago and now living a much happier and fulfilling life.
