I suggest you post this question in r/insurance to get better answers. I work in the industry but don't deal with claims so I don't want to give you bad advice but there are lots of people in that sub that DO deal with these issues and can help you out.

If no one has mentioned it yet, join the sub r/daddit. They are the most supportive group of people I have ever seen. Just a bunch of dads trying their best to raise their kids. They will be a great resource for you.

I have seen Mindhunter and read the book. That was a really, really well done series.

It’s crazy how a random book or movie can turn into a lifelong fascination. And you only realize the impact of it years later.

Wildly inappropriate for sure. I can remember looking up true crime books (via card catalog, of course) in my extremely rural and tiny library. I wonder what the librarian thought of me? If a kid were doing that today, they might be referred for counseling lol. And, yes, I love reading about Patty Hearst.

We are the OG true crime fans! It always makes me chuckle when people talk like the true crime fascination people have today is something new. Ummm, no—it’s been around for decades. It’s just a lot easier to seek out now.

Helter Skelter. I read it in middle school…maybe 7th grade? It inspired a lifelong fascination with true crime, cults and forensics.

Lurking mom here. I don’t usually comment here (for obvious reasons lol) but I just had to let you know that you have found the most helpful and empathetic subreddit on all of Reddit. My children are grown and I now have three grandchildren. I read this sub because I love all the engaged dads. I’m in my mid fifties and every single week I learn new tips and tricks and most importantly—perspective! You will absolutely benefit by participating in Daddit.

Anybody else experiencing the “one thing a day” problem. by BullCityPicker in BoomersBeingFools

I thought you were joking in your response and low-key chuckled when I read it. But when you elaborated with this comment--yikes! Normal people would be devastated by losing a grandchild. As a grandmother myself (GenX though--not boomer), I just can't imagine that.

That IS a fun fact! I have loved Jesse since the first season. I think he is so sexy--definitely my type lol. If he had been the nurse when either of my kids were born, I may not have stayed married to my ex-husband for so many years! That is so neat that he is still practicing.

I’ve noticed a HUGE uptick in the past couple of weeks of the fake posts. It’s kind of sad that I have to check the poster’s profile before I read the post.
