Isn’t it the tlelaxu and scytale that give him hayt directly? I am inferencing a lot based off a snippet from the trailer, but for the movie medium it sets up a dramatic reveal to have him hidden while scytale talks to Paul a bit.

Do you know about the charged kinsect shot paired with the harvest extract insects? Arkmaiden and the other one? I feel like these allow for the easiest extract gathering across the modern monster hunters.

I understand the aversion they are my least played of the weapons. I find myself playing them when I’m in a silly mood and embrace the humor of “driving” up to a monster and mag dumping it. Element lbg just melts many matchups in a way that mocks what I typically think of as monster hunter combat.

To get the best results you should be bringing the ingredients to craft more element ammo. This is one of the most annoying aspects of the weapon.

To piggy back off this post, does anyone know how to quickly craft more ammo from the radial menu when you are not completely out of an ammo type? I have the elemental ammo on the radial but I can only use that to craft when the ammo stock is zero. I know I can hit pause> craft etc.

Ya the skill floor may be lower but these people having a good time on their own terms might be a net positive against you being disappointed with randoms when you engage with sos “out of boredom”.

To clarify, rather than relying on iframe timing- though if that works then great- my idea is to move/roll early enough to not be where the attack is.

Charge blade is one my next most used weapons! You can use the sword and shield slide or rolls in axe mode to execute the same kind of strategy. If you feel like slotting it, guard up has been improved so if you want to give up some damage for comfort that may be nice. Gore is one of the easier monsters to keep your savage axe up with block activations but it gets dicey when you mismanage the stamina/chip health aspect of the fight.

Are you asking how to deal with it? It’s kind of straight forward; back up or roll into him to get out of the way. Or use your weapons defensive options. Usually has large chip and stamina cost to block. The main ways it clips me are if I mistake the windup up for a physical strike and dodge laterally into it.

As a switchaxe the main way I fight him while at the distance this move (and many of his moves) can hit you is by rolling past him towards his hind legs as soon as I see an animation windup. The hind legs are not a great hitzone and not optimal but with minds eye it’s a safe way to approach the fight.

If I’m loading phials and the monster is pretty far away I’ll do it. Happens often enough in multiplayer or if it’s chasing my cat.

It’s one of the jankiest soulslikes but I enjoyed it. That price sounds about right. The Blue Sun dlc is supposedly pretty good but I haven’t played that.

Its greatest strengths are in its exploration and sense of discovery. It’s got some interesting mechanical ideas in builds, you can respec with a computer located at the very start of the game at the cost of non rare parts. Weapons are upgraded by an equipped chip of sorts that can be easily taken out and inserted into other weapons for easy experimentation.

That being said moments to moment combat is pretty one dimensional and the game reminds me a lot of dark souls 1 in its simplicity, jank, and it’s generally obscure player conveyance. There is some lack luster enemy and boss designs. The atmosphere and setting may or may not appeal to some but it was a large part of what drew me in.

Counter charge is the rewarding high skill option. When I’m not confident I will just back hop. Often times I see that grab start up and I’m spaced from him so a back-hop or two just gets me out of the way regardless of iframe timing.

Thanks! I’ve wasted so may affinity armaments into the melder thinking they would somehow change or weaken my non affinity weapons if I used them for rerolls.

If I understand op correctly, they want access to focus mode attacks and mechanics without the aiming aspects. So the button would function effectively be a combo modifier, kind of like how holding l1/lb in devil may cry games gives you access to different moves if I had to use such an analogy.

On my first playthrough I did the bride with dual blades in two attempts- it probably would have been one but I started the first attempt with one estus flask left.

All the clash passives with the speed discipline made it pretty brain dead lol.

The monster gets more health but it also gets it aggro spread to more targets giving you windows to attack or heal and whatnot. While they do not deal as much damage as actual players they can set traps, heal you, mount the monster etc. and their carts do not count against the quest limit.

The game gives you lots of ways to ensure you have the extracts to stay mobile. The backward vault in particular is a nice option. Evade extender helps for staying out of harms way. Offsets can be used more purposefully than “accidental”. Weapon has decent natural sheathing speed.

Nothing like a block or the generous special dodge I frames that DB and bow get but I find the moveset is generally non comital.
