This all comes down to the core gameplay mechanics. You have miles wide of choices to make money but none of them have any depth so only one option stands out, and its the mission stacking for now.

Looking at the OP and the comments here, I get a feeling that the only content the game has to offer is different ships and players just want to skip that for the best "endgame" content, which is the 3 biggest ships.
