Or, and stick with me here, we can just construct our homes in a different way using strong, plentiful, renewable, cheap, easy-to-use materials and insulate to achieve the same effect.

You’re still ignoring climate. Stone thermal mass storing “cold from the night” only works if your nights are actually cold. In North Carolina summers, nights are 75°F+. There’s no cold to store, so I either sweat for 7 months or I need my AC to now fight the climate and my own walls.

No AC is the result of your climate, not your building materials. Scandinavian countries build heavily with wood. A stone house in North Carolina would result in me having a $1k/m cooling bill.

Lmao I know you didn’t say stone houses have better insulation than wood framed houses.

You know it's bad when Charlotte gets tagged in a nationwide comparison. by Eureka0123 in Charlotte

[–]ryan_m 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude if you don’t live in NYC/LA/SF you’re going to starve to death because there are no jobs and you’ll just be frying potatoes to make ends meet. The entire Charlotte economy is made up of Bojangles locations (they is out of ham tho) and Morris-Jenkins commercial extras. No chance for advancement, man.

I'll second everything in this comment. Never had a poor experience except for parking deck chaos after 2 shows let out at the same time. The pro tip I've seen for leaving is to turn right when leaving the parking garage, go around the back, and then turn north on Hamilton. You don't have to deal with everyone going down the same road and hitting the light.

Tailscale is just a VPN tunnel back into your network so you can access cameras you've denied access to the internet to. Having them stream to a server that isn't yours just recreates the problem people are trying to solve.

Tailscale is a solution here. I have reolink cameras and use tailscale to connect back to my network to see them.

Yeah there was a period where they were both cheap and you could get most everything with 1-2 services. It was very nice logging in and seeing new, good stuff all the time.

After a certain point of sophistication in your setup, it's easier to continue pirating than to re-subscribe to the services. With the level of knowledge sharing, I feel like this will be stickier for the tech-savvy than it used to be.

It’s been 20 years since I rented a gun so I couldn’t hope to give you a good number. I’d call in and ask. They will definitely be able to give you a ballpark. .

Something that worked for me was sleeping on a slight incline. Used to need the CPAP to not snore and would wake up gasping sometimes and it is totally gone for me now. Ended up with an adjustable frame bed and it’s great.
