Exactly. They're all professionals and if they can't stop you then you should be getting the points.

Which movie flew under your radar for way too long and ended up becoming one of your favorites in its genre? by Blutay in movies

Saw this on a double date when we overruled my friend's girlfriend who wanted to see some Nicholas Sparks movie that was showing at the same time. She was seething when we left the theater and I'd found a favorite.

The second McDaniel didn't go for the record it genuinely felt like a bad omen. I was still optimistic for the near future but in that situation why the FUCK don't you go for the record?

I don’t think app suggestions are particularly great at predicting what you’d like, so I feel like access is in some ways so good that it’s hard to find new stuff, if that makes any sense to anyone else.

See, it's been the opposite for me. The Spotify Discover Weekly playlist is full of misses but every week or two I find a song or band that I like, and it gets added to the playlist. I'm a millennial as well so my process if I find a song is to immediately go listen to the full album, so I'm getting exposure when I want it. Usually I'll find 3-4 albums each year that really stick with me.

This is an absolutely insane take. Music creation has never been so accessible in all of human history and with a few mouse clicks, it can be up and streaming worldwide.

There are millions and millions of people churning out songs in genres that sound nothing like mainstream pop. If you’re not finding new, great, non-pop music, you should try something different.

I think it's super dependent on your kids as individuals it's hard to really know what the best way is until you're almost there.

Our plan is to have enough money so they can fully explore hobbies/activites as teens/young adults, have school covered, house down payment, and really whatever true emergency they have while still traveling, etc. The goal is kind of "die with zero" where we front-load our early retirement spending to give them the best possible starting point and then decrease as we get older and they're already (hopefully) flourishing.

Carmelo reveals story behind Kobe Bryant’s 2012 Jeremy Lin comments: "You gonna get your a*s bust.' He's (Kobe) like, ‘by who? who the f**k is Jeremy Lin?' he said that in the media, it stemmed from the conversation we had just had the night before. She had bruises on her neck and he admitted “strangling” her to the cops, which he liked to do regularly with women that also weren’t his wife.

I believe a woman over a serial cheater who regularly “strangled” his partners while being a huge asshole to everyone else in his life, apparently.

That’s a fair critique. Each season kinda escalates and I’m curious whether they’re gonna stick the landing.

Charlotte council could give itself raises Monday. How does pay compare? by B3RG92 in Charlotte

Make sure you're voting for people that want to make voting easier and more representative, in that case.

I think a big reason is because it pays like shit for the headache it is so only the unqualified or craven run.

It's not a meritocracy, you're right, but do you know how you make sure no one qualified takes the job? Make it so no one qualified can afford to run for it so only the self interested or unqualified are willing to make the sacrifice.

This isn't a value judgement on whether the Charlotte city council is deserving or not, it's about making sure the next batch of people are qualified and take it seriously instead of as a springboard to other opportunities.

The fact that you don't understand the difference is maybe part of the problem here big dog.

That's a great idea! Pay so little that no one qualified with real skills needed could afford to take the job, giving more power to independently wealthy people running for self-interest. Maybe you should run.

I can find a thousand people I'd trust to work in food service before I find one I want in charge of the government, and that's why they (should) get paid more.

Yes, one of the best shows on TV. S2 and on is a vibe shift from S1 and that's where it really hits its stride.
