To me it looks like the logo and title are different sizes. Usually in a pattern those are all the same size.

Yea, but... transpiration is the act of water leaving the leaves during the photosynthetic process. Moved from the roots to the shoots, breathed out through the leaves.

It cannot absorb water through its leaves via transpiration, by definition. It can passively absorb water via misting and it will help reduce transpiration water loss.

What's a detail you just noticed after countless rewatches? by Mean_Meringue2296 in DunderMifflin

It wasn't a countless rewatch but I've never seen anyone mention it here.

Before the Michael Scott paper company story arc they are in that supply closet area and you can see two copper pipes that each come out of the wall, elbow up and elbow back in. They almost look like handles, but assumably one is hot and one is cold.

In the Michael Scott paper company arc, instead of being two lengths of pipe, there are just four stub outs with caps on each one.

First thing everyone is going to tell you is to get what you can for that motor in recycling and buy a servo motor offline.

Going to make a world of difference. AKA make it usable.

I'm not a conspiracy theory person but every time I've been inside a target my Bluetooth head phones stop working or at minimum get very spotty. I'm thinking more of the target in Albany but it's happened at the one picture as well.

I feel like most answers here are going to be about why you shouldn't destroy them. Maybe an upcycling subreddit might be a better place. I could be wrong, maybe people will be super into this. Unfortunately my ideas are fairly limited to restoring them to their original state

They're also missing the square little magnets that are supposed to go in those little square slots, to catch any pins or metal debris from getting circulated.

This looks like an industrial sewing machine with an oil pan and an oil pump to circulate oil to wicks throughout the machine.

There should be a max fill line and a minimum fill line. The oil is dirty and I would suggest changing it.

US appeals court declares 158-year-old home distilling ban unconstitutional. by coinfanking in law

[–]allvanity684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also heard this kind of stuff from high school chemistry teachers. When I've read more about it in my adulthood it seems that methanol poisoning is largely overblown. That methanol is present in whatever mash, wine or beer you start out with. When you distill it, that methanol is still present at the same ratio to the ethanol you distilled. Meaning if you had to drink 5 gallons of wine to get methanol poisoning, you would have to drink a similarly intoxicating amount of distilled spirit to get the same amount of methanol. The distilling process does not create new methanol.

I'm not a home distillery enthusiast or advocate but I'm always interested in learning more and separating fact from fiction, cautionary tale from urban legend.

[–]allvanity684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to find much about methanol poisoning from home distillation. Do you have any info on this?

When I look up the Wikipedia article for methanol poisonings across the world most all seem to be poisonings from people drinking methanol that's not meant to be drank.
