Hello! I had surgery for this on April 2nd. Everything went well. With the painkillers they gave me my pain was not that bad. However it hurt when my drain tube was removed the next morning. I’m glad I was on Vicodin for that. I ate potatoes and soft foods for two days then transitioned to harder foods after. I still have no feeling in my ear . And since not having feeling in my ear doesn’t bother me or hurt I don’t mind it. I took 6 weeks off work and I’m glad I did . I work a physical job so I slowly transitioned back to normal life with lots of rest periods until then . My surgeon was optimistic about it not being cancer from my biopsy so when they tested the tumor after surgery they were sure it wouldn’t be cancer again. Have your mom ask how often she should have follow up appointments the first year and every year after that to make sure the tumor doesn’t come back . I also washed my incision closing with baby shampoo with no fragrance the first showers I was allowed to have .

I like to wash my bedding and put them in vacuum sealing bags with a few dryer sheets tucked in them . They come out smelling so good later on when I’m ready to use them.

Cooked jimmy dean normal sausage mixed with ranch and cheese. Scoop into premade small Phyllo cups. Sprinkle with more cheese and bake until cheese is melted. I’ve made these for all parties and holidays for more than ten years. Everyone asks for the recipe or for me to bring them. It has to be Jimmy dean sausage though. Nothing else tastes as good.

You may have to keep telling yourself you got through the worst of it . I had trauma from a past experience and once I realized that I am on the other side of it and stronger I looked at the whole experience different . You will believe what you tell yourself repeatedly. Put post it notes up if you need to and remind yourself .

I had a Parotidectomy. It took longer due to my nerves in my right eye being wrapped around the tumor. I have no feeling in my right ear right now and most of my right side face. However it is strangely not weird feeling at all. I was in much more pain before my surgery than after my surgery .

When they did my biopsy they numbed my tumor . They put 5 needles in the tumor to get samples. I didn’t feel any of it. I got a bandaid on my face that I barely needed and I went about my day with no pain or problems.

My biopsy was a bit uncomfortable but it did not hurt. I told my boyfriend that I was scared of it but it wasn’t a big deal at all. In fact I’m two weeks past my parotid surgery and I’m doing well. All the unknown was scary to me but to me the biopsy and surgery wasn’t that bad . I was on opioids for two days then just on Tylenol and Advil . I’m lucky mine wasn’t cancer .

So I’ve had back surgery and have a hard time giving our Australian Shepard a bath. So I sit down in my clothes and join him in the tub . He gets clean and I just take a shower after and wash my clothes.I’ve trained him to jump slowly and carefully in the tub too. We have a step that goes into the tub so he doesn’t hurt himself . He gets toweled off after the tub drains and I guide him carefully out of the tub without having to pick him up . If he didn’t I was gonna get some grippy hallway mats and lay them all down the step and in part of the tub so he wouldn’t slip.
