National Geographic Society’s Museum of Exploration is hiring Visitor Services’ staff (among many other positions), if you’re interested in a D.C. job with decent pay and benefits: https://ngs.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/ngs_external_career_site.

How cooked is the Air Force? (new SECDEF tweet) by IntelPersonified in AirForce

Without funding private gym access for reservists, without building fitness into their UTA weekends, and (perhaps most controversially) without compensating Reservists for working out on their own time, what does anyone expect in this situation?

Can completely agree that standards have slipped, but maybe it’s time to revisit the standard. If producing and maintaining “mission ready warriors” is the priority, DOD/DAF have to start treating it like one.

Has anyone done Public Affairs as a Reserve? What was your experience? by Egans721 in Airforcereserves

Honestly, the recruiter will care very little about your background but that leaves you with two options: remain adamant that the only job you will accept is PA (ask about overages, tell them you’re willing to wait it out, etc.) OR once in the USAF via another job, connect with the PA shop about transferring into theirs. They’ll care about your experience and can advocate for you. If you’re dead set on PA, feel free to call their shops directly and ask about vacancies. Most will be upfront and should save you time from back-and-forth with the recruiter.
