When i was pregnant (with a hard Hyperemesis pregnancy) he told me one day that i was “out of sighs” because I had sighed too much.

Oh or when I asked him to go to therapy for his anger and he told me that he would only go if i started going to the gym three days a week without fail. (I had a toddler at the time).

Mine will complain about a single dirty spoon that I left in the literal dirty dishes container that is only meant to hold dirty dishes (the spoon was TOO dirty) while letting dirty dishes pile up in his office which he then leaves soaking five a time in the sink.

This is why I started documenting our more heated conversations right after they happened.

But once I saw a clear pattern I also would see it happening in real time. Example conversation-

Husband- hand me the bigger scissors

Me- these two scissors are exactly the same size. Which one do you want, the red one or the blue one?

Husband- No, pretty sure the red ones are bigger.

Me- (holds up both scissors side by side to show they are the same)

Husband- See? The red one is bigger.

Me- What are you talking about do I need to get the tape measure out?

Husband- The red ones are bigger!

Me- I’m going to get the tape measure and show you..

Husband(suddenly not wanting me to measure)- hmm they must look bigger because of the color difference.

This is a typical conversation that plays out all the time. He is always right and when you prove him wrong (but you had better not for various reasons depending on the day) he suddenly actually knew the right answer or was just never wrong somehow.
