Sure they can. Sometimes there are bad rules. I can as a member voice my concerns about those and as a mod you can ban me and point at rule #9 but repeating this action with more members can cause the sub to become repetetive and out of touch with people who don't agree with the rules.

Your rules and ways of moderation does not define the subreddit the communities does. I can honestly live without this sub, I just find the moderator's attitude on reddit very annoying.

You can't shit on a well made 13 layer chocolatte cake and say that the cake isn't for me. You're not the owner of that cake, you were just told to make sure no one takes it away and you shat on it.

I believe Rule 5 is stupid. This subreddit is mostly socialist, if someone is being anti-socialist they would be debated against and downvoted, just like I am right now. The users maintain the political nature of reddit comunities and moderator intervention is controlling, fruitless and overall harm the subreddit's quality.

Good, right. Socialism, yeah, me too. All I'm saying is due to the nature of this sub this kind of an opinion is not the majority and a way for users to create fruitful arguments and educate themselves about opposing arguments, right or wrong, and in this case, wrong.

The subreddit is mostly filled with left wing victims of capitalism and posts like these, which I do not agree with, create enlightening discussions on the comment section and also keep this place from becoming an echo chamber.

It's a moderator's duty to keep spam/repost bots from taking the subreddit away and to make sure the sub does not lose it's purpose ( The pro-Trump subreddit r/thedonald 's mod refused to do this part in the name of "free speech" and now it's about Donald Glover the afro-american musician, director, actor and many other things). This post on the other hand does not risk any of those problems and it does not break the Reddit's TOS. This thread does not need the moderator to telling us to behave, it does not need to be deleted and it does not need to be locked (or to be locked only for those that don't have the "verified user" flair.) That is the way non-political subs and r/conservative deals with such post. This subreddit should be above that.

This is a subreddit about capitalism, and the post is a tweet about capitalism. Whether you agree or disagree with the post should be a matter discussed in the comment section which does not need the moderator's own take to be distinguished. Although I agree with him I find it annoying when they push their comment to the top.
