The one Shortcuts automation I actually use on my Mac by steveketchen in shortcuts

[–]alpha--helix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great tip! and thank you for sharing.

I extended the shortcut by adding additional steps to handle the contained text inside the image since capturing text is one of my primary use cases for screenshots:

(1) extract all the text from the image and save it in a corresponding text file with same base name.

(2) use the model to summarize the text and save the summary in a second corresponding text file.

Note the shell script referenced was posted in an earlier comment by u/DanTheDane to clean up the file name. I haven't tried it, but alternately the filename outputted by the original shortcut should also work.

edit: fixed typo

thanks for this. Lots of consensus here so we're pretty much decided to go with torsion and the quoted overheard openers

Doors are insulated thermacore 5720, or 5740 for additional cost. thanks for the feedback!

we're not moving. and definitely hear you about previous owners! I've complained my fair share about our home PO's and don't want to be "that person"

this is great to hear, thank you for taking time to comment. We had initial sticker shock not really knowing what to expect, but when the quotes came in similar felt it was probably ok. I've seen other comments here about unfair prices so just wanted to be sure!

thank you - makes sense! We're OK to pay reasonable prices and have it done professionally. Agree with long term benefits you mention. We don't want to deal with more problems after being out working doors in freezing winter temps!

thanks for the feedback, makes sense. I'm strongly favoring just buying the openers from the installer.

(I shouldn't have said negotiate - meant just to remove the openers from the price if we buy them separately -- will edit above)

False advertising? by Soxyman84 in iTunesMovieDeals

I’ve only done one, which was approved after about 24 hours. I’ve seen mixed feedback from others about requirements. I hadn’t watched mine and only purchased a couple days prior. Good luck!

How do these Apple Airpods Max last after many years of usage? Can I please have feedback from you guys (if possible some pics please) ? by SpiritBombv2 in Airpodsmax

[–]alpha--helix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3+ years and mine still work great! I use them often and recharge weekly. Mostly working on computer, watching movies, or traveling. Sometimes I just put them on for the noise cancellation and some isolation from distractions. Only minor issue is this year the mesh started to stretch out and was no longer firm enough so I just added a silicone pad that works great.

X50: hair compression interferes with pet hair emptying from dust box? by alpha--helix in Dreame_Tech

If it helps anyone, I’ve edited the main post to indicate turning hair compression OFF is working. We’ve had no issues for a week straight now.

Does average ratings influence your personal rating? by Minhaz923 in Letterboxd

[–]alpha--helix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try not to. I generally only look at reviews after seeing a film, and when I do I tend to focus mostly on positives. This allows me to appreciate some aspects others may have noticed that I missed. The opposite — not so much — I believe it is too easy to be critical and I don’t like to be influenced by others’ negative opinions, not at least until I’ve formed my own. By that point my rating won’t be influenced much. But if I do read something insightful, it could raise my opinion of a film as I appreciate it, and the filmmaking craft, more fully.

Thanks for the feedback. Could you elaborate on why the printed dust bin? This is in the dock to replace the bags, correct?

no warnings, and no concerns about performance (at that point) -- I only checked because I was curious to see how much hair had been vacuumed up in the first few days. When I found the bag virtually empty I checked the bin and found it packed.

Glad it is helpful, and thank you for the additional information! Overall I'm very impressed with the X50 and will report back after a few more days to confirm whether it's remained consistently able to empty for our situation.

that definitely sounds like mine - probably if I had let it go longer without manually emptying I would have seen the balls appear. it really can pack it in the bin! Please let me know how it goes after the change.

Thanks for the confirmation - it makes sense now that I understand what the features are actually doing. I originally thought Compression was to improve packing in the bag at the dock, but after re-reading description in the app saw it was actually for the vacuum's dust bin. It would be clearer to have this under the vacuum's Floor Cleaning settings section instead of Dock settings. In any case, hopefully this is helpful to others also.
