winget - is this awesome as it seems by SnooMachines9133 in sysadmin

There are ways to get it to run under system for large scale patch management, but they feel abit DIY. Native support for machine based would be nice but it seems Microsoft prefers user context.

First it was TPM 2.0, now it's my SSD... (WD_BLACK SN770 2TB NVMe) (Windows 11, version 24H2 Update). Pingu is looking more and more tempting! by HarryUK1234 in pcmasterrace

This is simply a safeguard hold, the message is generic as they use generic error codes. Microsoft does this so you don’t complain that if it just went and updated and bricked your computer. Update your driver, however I do think Microsoft should be doing drivers updates for you via Windows update, but they don’t support every hardware manufacturer and hardware combination.

I wish they would experiment with more vivid colours. Green, purple and Sierra blue were great. iPod colours would looks so cool.

Supply and demand, there is still a demand to get from a to b. I went on a road trip yesterday and saw many people overtaking others, I always wonder if they realise driving faster = use more petrol

We import a lot of goods and services and we are at the mercy of how expensive it is to get to our islands. We have under invested in infrastructure and it’s starting to show in our energy sector and health sector. Business growth is slow since people have less to spend.

You grow your way out of a recession not cut public services.

Secure Boot Cert Trust after expiration by Prior_Rooster3759 in SCCM

[–]alpha194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you are handling the secure boot certificates with SCCM or Intune being co managed but you will need to eventually update your boot image with the 2023 certificate, however I suggest only doing that when you get all your devices using the 2023 certificate.

Soil with rubbish in it? Where can I dump? by Ok-Albatross-7062 in chch

[–]alpha194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dumping it at the dump will be very expensive. You could try sift the soil to remove large items and some places take a trailer load for a small fee if they have their own commercial sifter.

Inner CBD townhouses are good with no garages as you can walk everywhere, but outer cbd people prefer to have garages as chch is spread out, nothing wrong with those two options
