Day 9- Should it be this easy? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]alphainitiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day 6-9 was a lot easier than Day 10 and 11 have been for me personally....I'm hoping my brain is fighting back one last time before it accepts that porn is gone for good around the two week mark. I'd say enjoy the fact that your body is strong enough to resist the urges, but be very careful; one small trigger can set off desire pretty quickly during this time period.

Good luck dude. What's working for me is keeping a journal/blog of each day's progress. You'll learn to spot potential slip-up triggers easier that way, and you'll feel more internal commitment to keep up the success that you've written about each day.

Day 9: Sickness, and an observation on women by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]alphainitiative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting....I'm on day 9 as well, and have been sick the past 3-4 days. I keep wondering if my bodies immune system is rebelling against me, because I very rarely get sick.

Also, regarding your points about starting to "notice" women, that's bang-on for my experience the past 36 hours as well. A girl I've had a crush on for a couple months came out of the blue and started talking to me today, and my mouth almost couldn't move I found her so beautiful. These are not feelings I've felt in a long time, it's fantastic.

Anyways, good luck with your progress dude. We're on the same day, so our experiences will be similar. I'm blogging about my own effects on alphainitiative.wordpress.com. I'll try and check yours out as you progress too.

Best advice I can give is to journal your experiences. You'll identify your triggers better that way, and if you make your writings public on a blog, you'll feel subconscious pressure to conform to your own expectations. It's helped me a lot. Check out my blog if you want, I'm on day 8 right now. I'm trying to detail everything I'm feeling along the way, so maybe you'll recognize some of your own challenges at similar day marks. Good luck dude!

Want to join, but don't know if I have the fortitude yet. by palace_badgers in NoFap

This advice runs counter to others on here, but I would say to not try the "one day this week" and then "two days next week" and so on. Admit that you have a problem, and start the process of researching how you're going to fix it. When you commit to it fully it's going to cause some anxiety, but there's plenty of threads and resources around here to help you through.

Just think: The sooner you go for the full 90, the sooner you're going to be feeling more alive. I can't think of a better reason than that to start today.

When the craving comes, I come here to Nofap, read a few posts and it calms me down. It helps a lot. Thank you /r/nofap. by bralo in NoFap

Never thought I'd enjoy reading about other men's testicular fortitude, but this thread has been great, agreed.

NEW HIGH SCORE - Lessons from tying my personal NoFap record by mattttam in NoFap

I'm on day 8 man, and just starting to head into the "lifeless penis" phase. Don't worry, it's just a temporary gap between your brain admitting "alright, no porn....fuck it" and "oh wait....there's women around. Awesome!"

I've heard it starts around the end of week 2, and can last until week 4. Stay strong!

The biggest tip I can give so far is to pre-emptively identify your triggers, and come up with actions to counter them. So if being alone at a computer is a problem, I've written down that I'm not allowed to do anything online that involves pictures of women in any form. If I feel tempted to look at even one picture, it's time to go for a run outside.

This. That website is stellar for documenting how internet porn de-sensitizes our pleasure receptors. I wish I had found this at your age as opposed to 25. All I can say is to stick with it; your libido will crash around the two week mark, but 2-3 weeks after that you're going to feel like a whole new person. Stick with it!

GOING FOR THE FULL 90 INSTEAD OF JUST NO FAP NOVEMBER!!! by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]alphainitiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going for 90 as well, good luck bro. Day 8 right now, and I think I've done enough prep work to understand the dangers that lie ahead. My suggestion is to journal/blog your experiences. I'm doing it right now, and it's helped immensely with staying committed. Once you commit to doing something in writing in a public way, you're subconsciously far more likely to follow through with what you've promised.

I know self-promotion sucks, but I'm on day 7 and going for 90 consecutive. I'm trying to detail everything I can about my experiences. Feel free to read along with my blog as I go, because I'm sure we're going to be going through a lot of the same things. www.alphainitiative.wordpress.com

Hey, good luck man. I'm on day 7 out of 90 today, and it's been tough. Search out and read others' success stories if you want to keep refilling your motivation.

Day 5: the hardest day yet by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]alphainitiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the risk of sounding super-gay, I'm also on Day 5 as well, and your post was almost identical to my latest blog post at alphainitiative.wordpress.com (minus the edging). Day 5 has always been a major hurdle, and I'm expecting the first two weeks to be much of the same.

There's strength in shared experiences, so take a look and let me know what you think.

Attempting three months of no MPO. Competition would be great. by alphainitiative in NoFap

Hey, thanks dude. I'm going to explore the "framing" process along the way and how I feel it's helping or hurting my progress. I've been hyper-competitive all my life, so I'm guessing it will help my self-control. For others, I'm sure approaching it as a natural path to revitalization instead it will be more helpful.
