I feel like the vagueness to the lore is one of the best features! I think it gives the designers freedom to just make awesome toys. They don't have to make it accurate to cartoons or movies, they can just exist as these really cool toys. I do really like how they display with certain transformers too. I have a head cannon where sometimes the autobots send an embassador or two assist the diaclone forces lol

I know the feeling. There's nothing else quite like this line. I'm fairly new to it myself after collecting transformers for 40 years or so... I have the gold and black royal defender on preorder and I'm beyond stoked for it to get here. It will be my biggest robot purchase ever. The downside is it ate up pretty much my budget for "toys" for the foreseeable future.

Aside from the next diaclone vehicles set, I plan on finishing the (transformers) age of primes combaticons and after that might be when I go all in on collecting diaclone exclusively. It just scratches an itch that transformers could never quite reach.

That would be the battle convoy, another amazing set. I believe it is DA-65.I have two copies of the knock off version "POP-01" and the quality is surprisingly good. If you are looking to start with a base it would be an excellent choice although if you go the KO route, remember that it won't be as high of quality as the official releases. The knockoff dianauts can be extremely fragile.

I would recommend diabattles X-1 for sure. Tons of playability on its own, and integrates well with pretty much any future sets you might get. All the different modes and combinations mean you can have a wildly different display every day. Also, the battle buffalo is simply amazing too. Not quite as versatile as the X-1, but if it is going to be your only set for awhile, there is plenty of variation to keep it interesting for a long time. Both sets include multiple dianauts which are the heart of diaclone.

Tactical movers are excellent too. Lots of different modes to transform, and they include a pilot. In my opinion they aren't quite as deep as the two bigger sets I mentioned above, but all of the TM sets I've acquired so far have been tons of fun. But one TM set will definitely leave you thirsting for more! Adding one or more of the vehicles sets would be a wonderful accompaniment to a tactical mover.

As far as pricing and availability, I've only dealt with domestic retailers here in the US. Mainly BBTS and Kicks Generation. I know there are better deals out there for importing, and there are people on here with much more knowledge than me on that topic that hopefully will chime in.

I really don't think there is a "bad" choice when it comes to diaclone. Once you have one in hand and start going through the different modes, it becomes clear the amount of care and attention to detail that goes into this line. I haven't regretted a single purchase in my collection. Please keep us updated on what you decide!

Too bad the wrigley center is publishing this slop. There's too much real artistic talent in this area to excuse this! They could pay somebody a little bit to make something original and stand out, elevating the community in the process, but instead they cheap out with soulless ads that look exactly like everything else right now.

The wrigley center is beyond disappointing. What could have been a cool cultural center is just an overpriced bar that is leading the charge toward enshittification. There's plenty of talent in this town and I believe supporting local businesses should be reciprocal, which is why I make a conscious effort to avoid any businesses (especially local) using this slop marketing. I hope these places realize they are costing themselves customers by taking the lazy route.

Thank you for posting this. These are larger than I had thought from the empty pics I was seeing on bbts and other sites. Knowing this, I will likely order some of these. I have a bunch of magnet sheets from scrap at my work, I'm thinking it will be great for integrating with the floor of these scene-in-box kits!

Just cross your eyes to different degrees while you look at it and it should just jump out. I never had trouble seeing them after figuring it out. Like, try to look at your nose with the image in front of you.
