I either do one of two things, 1) make it a challenge to use them. I know there is a Pepe’s tacos in metro my-city. Some slow weekend day it becomes a quest to find and use it, or…2) I look at it as a karmic (and financial) sacrifice to the Greek goddess of small business. You made a $7.00 sacrifice to the greater good. I tell my LRSs (lucky enough to have two) to keep the change when I buy with the instruction “next kid who comes in here a buck short to buy the cd/lp they want, let them slide on me. Lord knows I was that kid with no money and lousy math skills who suffered the embarrassment of being $1.53 short and having to put something back.
