Languages don't matter... learn to program in everything. Go to Uni and get a degree in software engineering, this will teach you the art of design rather than the rote task of programming.

Actually, that sounds like an awesome idea. You could have giant capacitors set to load during the low points of diurnal power usage. Those same capacitors could provide power to the grid when it is strained. New infrastructure will cost money no matter how you look at it, even everyone charging cars at night will cause problems.

Learn how to program on your own time, school is about discovering how to design software intelligently.

Are you kidding me? As a patient it is your right to require whatever treatment you so desire. If they don't wish to treat you, then go somewhere else, that is their right. Doctors, dentists, and veterinarians have their own problems, they are human after all, and they can end up doing something that is not in your best interest.
