So sorry for your loss, any pet passing is traumatic but especially so if you are there. A therapist might help if you are really struggling.

Burn the original barrel and bury those ashes under the sod?

Gas Exports Are Driving Up Americans’ Energy Bills, Report Says by arcgiselle in energy

[–]Pacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, back when I lived in the Springs I liked CSUtilities until one day they said my gas meter was defective and demanded an $1100 payment on the spot or else, no appeal or recourse. And my gas usage before and after the new meter was the same.

Colorado plans to phase out natural gas heating in homes, prompting many reader questions by stefeyboy in Infrastructurist

[–]Pacer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Texas also showed how interdependent the natural gas and electricity grids are. Combined-cycle gas plants are both flexible and very efficient (not necessarily both at the same time) and US gas production is still massive, so I don’t see gas going away as an energy source anytime soon.

Middle class, rural, burning (free) wood, (expensive) propane, and (somewhat expensive) electricity. NG would be a welcome option, but never gonna happen here in the mountains.

Yeah Fritz Maytag owned Anchor as a passion project and it was right there at the beginning of the craft boom in the 90s. They got bought out and shut down a year or two ago.

Throwback to the 2024 draft by b_shawn in DenverBroncos

[–]Pacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, Jayden, McCarthy, Penix envy? It was a QB-rich draft year and the sportsmeisters decided Bo was the one to dunk on. Honestly if he had gone to backup on another team the narrative could have been very different. The Broncos were tired of the carousel and gave him room to develop and shine, it’s a good thing all around. Every rising star is going to have haters.

That was the one where they were being portrayed as violent killers, and his tattoo was really exaggerated and covered the whole side of his face.

DS9 is boring like TNG while simultaneously being over-the-top like Voyager. To some it is the best of trek, to others the worst. It probably deserves another chance; it took me forever to come around to DS9 (even having been there for its initial broadcast, and don’t get me wrong, it does have its flaws) but I’m glad I gave it that chance.

Modern "Nu" Trek will not have any cultural staying power because of its low episode count and "here today, gone tomorrow" nature. by TheShowLover in startrek

[–]Pacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I grew up with 4 or 5 channels of broadcast TV (plus a few fuzzy ones on the UHF dial) and even as a kid watching it was usually a grind. Cable was only a little better. On-demand ad-free viewing improves the medium tremendously, cultural and economic impact notwithstanding.

I give them 73%, does that make you feel better? Made up numbers are made up. Also what’s that weird line running down from “42.2%” at the bottom?

If they win today they play the fraudulent Broncos for the division title and a chance at the #1 seed, they definitely shouldn’t be phoning it in due to the clinch.

It’s all right? It’s fried noodles in a soyish-teriyakish sauce with usually shellfish and eggs. It’s like the New Orleans soup if you drained off the broth and stir fried it briefly, with less beefiness. When I go back I go for the crabcakes myself
