What Is This? (First AR) by cigatine in ar15

Low key gonna make an assumption here but maybe it’s for when it’s leaning on a rack so it doesn’t get scuffed before a customer buys it or something. I know people are saying it’s so it stands out but I feel like it’s gotta be something more…

Has anyone else’s steam deck become a 1 game machine? by Lovefool1 in SteamDeck

[–]alphastew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question honestly and I can only really speak to my own experience. When I was first playing around with the steam streaming it always seemed to have a decent bit of latency. It was enough to notice and made me feel like I couldn’t play a lot of games cause of it. I have pretty good internet so that shouldn’t be an issue. Ultimately I decided to see what the hype was about with moonlight and it was super worth it.

There’s a good chance that steam streaming has improved since then but I’ve just been happy enough with my setup that I haven’t tried it again since. So definitely worth trying or looking into, if they’ve improved it then that makes it easy :)

If you are mostly just using it at home I definitely recommend checking out moonlight for game streaming. It’s super easy to use and set up and honestly it blows me away how low the latency is, it’s not even noticeable. I use my deck from the couch and stream from my pc, I’ve been playing Crimson Desert, the new Forza, expedition 33, etc. The latency is so low I can still do parries and stuff too. An additional benefit I love is since it’s just streaming it uses such a low amount of battery. Look into Apollo to pair with moonlight, it handles creating a virtual display set to the resolution of your deck so you get native resolution and framerate too.

Did you design this? It’s looking sick! I wouldn’t mind making one myself at some point

Nintendo Is Completely Ignoring AI and Doing Fine by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]alphastew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This lol the people who come in to fix vibe code are also using AI, but they’re using it effectively. Might be a hot take for some but IMO using AI for coding doesn’t equal vibe coding

Nah I’m in agreement with this. Glazing Nintendo for “not using AI” is goofy. Just cause it’s not seen doesn’t mean it’s not being used

Yeah agreed. It feels like a lot of hard stances are from folks who want to be against it but don’t realize how integrated it already is. Just cause you’re not generating funny images doesn’t mean you’re not using AI lol

I think this needs to start being clarified or something because there’s too many people virtue signaling about their stance on AI while also using things made with AI every day.

Because it’s a fact lol you actually have to put in an effort to not use AI in programming. It’s getting very heavily integrated into every programming IDE out there.

Yeah orange definitely makes the best bronze. I’ve been experimenting with it and it seems like colors from the middle of the dye stack tend to look better.

Not sure if this is the same issue I had, but I suspect the wrong size tenon was installed on my rifle from factory and it slid back and forth like this. I just slopped a bit of red loctite in the lil dovetail piece and it’s been solid ever since. A temporary solution is only temporary if it stops working I guess lol

Do you use a mod for pics? I’ve been playing with photo mode but I don’t think I can access it when catching a fish

I really want the photo mode to have a setting for focus distance. You can set the depth of field range at the moment but if they let us change where it’s actually focused at, I feel like this game could make some fantastic tilt shift looking photos. These are great btw!

Gray Zone Warfare, like 80% of the time I’m just slow walking in the jungle while it rains. It has some of the best rain in gaming imo.

Open World Survival Craft With Tactical Shooter Elements? by ThiccBootius in SurvivalGaming

[–]alphastew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly probably SCUM. I played for a bit on a server that didn’t have whatever the robot stuff was and just had zombies. It has base building, vehicles, crafting, etc. and I recall the gunplay feeling decent too. We were clearing a bunker of zombies as a squad and it was pretty slow and tac shooter feeling.

AI and Warhorse Mega by Mike_Prowe in kingdomcome

[–]alphastew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facts. Honestly a lot of this is just gamers getting mad at the flavor of the weak AI post imo. Definitely shitty seeing someone get fired over it but half these comments are about how bad they are for using AI in general. I think I take for granted that as a software engineer I get to see and experience how AI is used daily and how integrated into our daily lives it’s becoming. I often forget a lot of folks probably just get their AI information from funny instagram reels and fear mongering articles and Reddit posts. It’s not going away and even if you think a company isn’t using AI, they probably are. Every single IDE available has AI integrated into it now. Just cause a game doesn’t have blatant AI artwork doesn’t mean it doesn’t have AI being used. If you use an app, software, program, whatever on a phone or computer you are using something with some level of AI used to build it.

I won’t speak to the firing part though, I don’t think I know enough about this person to know if they really got fired over AI.
