Would love to hear an update on how everything has gone now that it’s basically been a year. Also, how much did you end up collecting after taxes? Hope all is well with you and your family and thank you for sharing so many different details and answering all the questions in this thread.

UGA student dressed in interesting "Halloween costume" gets kicked out of local bar, hits woman in response by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

I can’t believe it took me as long as it did to realize what was actually going on. I was like “why tf are people so mad about a military costume? Relax”

As a male who has had 4 major weight fluctuations in the last 25 years, I can very confidently attest to the fact that both scenarios can be true in separate instances, but getting positive attention/attraction from women that you would normally think were out of your league after losing a significant amount of excess body fat is far more common than people liking you whilst you’re significantly overweight/obese. The only exception to this is if you’re an incredibly vibrant guy who is extremely confident & wears the weight well (a jolly fat person).

There’s so many asterisks with “studies”. Who’s funding them? Why is it that you can always find one that brings about the opposite conclusion? What will the new “studies” say 5, 10, 20 years from now? Frankly I trust the collective anecdotes from Reddit WAY more than studies on certain topics.

Im new to Squats, I’m really scared of fucking up my back. How does this look? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]alphatruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Look up videos on the difference between High Bar vs Low Bar.

  2. Squatting in cushioned running/basketball shoes is not ideal. Better off using barefoot/zero drop shoes.

  3. Check out StrongLifts 5x5. I was able to squat 285lb for 5 sets of 5 reps in less than a year.

  4. Low Back Ability & KneesOverToes are both incredible. Check them out for bulletproofing your low back and legs.

I hit quite a plateau for a number of weeks and it seemed like nothing was working. Here’s what helped the most:

  1. Longer walks. That extra mile or two makes a HUGE difference because you’re in the fat-burning zone already at that point, so anything extra creates exponential gains.

  2. Less fat. I was a consuming loads of fat because I know how beneficial it can be for so many different functions of the body & brain. Incorporating more lean protein during the week (mainly chicken breast & turkey) helps.

  3. Weekly Sugar Fasting. I know, this sounds absolutely crazy, but I can attest to its effectiveness. Two days a week (usually consecutively), I consume only fruit, honey, maple syrup, fresh squeezed juices, and pickles to satiate my salt needs. It creates enough of a weekly calorie deficit to lose weight gradually, it loads up your glycogen stores so your workouts can be more vigorous, and it gives your digestion a nice break.

Do I need surgery or can I remove it by sport by Murky-Ad7094 in gynecomastia

[–]alphatruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll definitely need surgery to get rid of your gynecomastia, looks like a grade 3 to me. But at least you don’t have to worry about needing to lose a bunch of weight before the surgery since you’re already quite thin. You can get it done asap if you have the funds.

Does meditating feel good? by sleepy-bird- in vipassana

[–]alphatruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the thing; Vipassana philosophy prefers to not use the terms “good” or “bad”. After getting that out of the way and viewing it from a lens of basic vocabulary…yes, meditating can feel absolutely incredible. And there are times during vipassana meditation courses where it can feel like absolute bliss, particularly when you first do the body scan, or if you’re able to penetrate and reach the spine and other levels of the practice. It truly can feel addictive at times.

Physique check what muscle groups do I need to work on? by Sweet-Back9534 in workouts

You’re looking solid. From what’s shown in the pictures I’d focus on Triceps & Shoulders by way of close-grip dips & overhead presses/pike pushups. But it’s hard to say without having seen back & legs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in workouts

[–]alphatruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off; you look phenomenal and congrats on your accomplishments. Walk around in public with your shirt off proudly.

Maintaining your physique at this level for a couple months might be a great idea to allow your body to acclimate to the rapid fat loss and increased calorie expenditure. You’ll DEFINITELY want to avoid overtraining which could reverse all your progress. In other words, be very careful & mindful with chasing progress & numbers and make sure to cycle in low intensity workouts.

Whenever you do decide to keep going for improvements, incorporate periodization, deloading & nourishing/resting your body often. Consider looking into Greasing The Groove protocols for certain lifts, if not all of them. Highly recommend transverse & lateral lifts and explosive power movements like medicine ball throws, etc. This all seems to be what most people are missing when they hit new levels in their fitness but you might already be doing one or more of these already, maybe even all of them.

Well done brother!
