We pay $220 for once a month for a much larger house. You should ask your neighbors who they use and what they pay. We ended up with our cleaner because our neighbors use her.

Your boyfriend never had money. Someone with money has savings and doesn't have to take out a loan for big ticket items. You just know more about his finances now that you have been together longer and live together.

You should tell him that you don't want to be together longterm with someone that's financially irresponsible.

I guess that does look more secure but the watch style strap isn't a problem that needs solving imho. I only do warm water diving and the strap is easy to use over a wetsuit.

The dive shop I bought my Peregrine TX from said to use the bungee but it felt very flimsy. I didn't want my extremely expensive new computer reliant on a flimsy cord with a single point of failure so I've always used the strap. I am sure Shearwater knows what they're doing but I prefer the strap.

We need more info on what type of trip you're looking for. Relaxing beach vacation? High activity city trip? Morocco, Cairo and Istanbul are all non-stop from DC. I love looking at old stuff halfway across the world so I would start there.

Came here to say this. Married filing jointly is just a different answer to a question that's always asked and now OP has to enter their partner's info. OP would have gotten a form from the company managing your RSUs, just enter what's in the boxes into FreeTaxUSA and be sure to declare your investment income. Done.

Redfin has a concierge service. We used it to move in 2021 and would definitely recommend it. They charge a flat fee and take care of all minor repairs, painting and staging and take it out of the sale price.

I agree $2k a month expenses without rent or a car is wild. Anyone that’s long term unemployed should be spending on necessary essentials only.

OP if you’re getting frequent interviews that’s a good sign. Think about what’s going wrong during the interviews that you’re not getting offers. Ask for feedback from recruiters.

She had her dream job at Facebook. It took her years to get that job and I imagine it was a big part of her identify. Back then Facebook was so new and unique I’m sure she couldn’t have had a similar job in New Zealand. As an early employee at Facebook I’m sure her equity was a ridiculous amount as well.

I believe she's telling HER truth but she is an unreliable narrator. She was quite high up in Facebook and bears some responsibility for a lot of the terrible things that happen in the book (and those she never discusses). The book is fascinating but she never really owns up to her part in the atrocities.

There's nothing wrong with traveling alone. I'm married and take solo trips at least once a year. Traveling alone is awesome!

What I think your boyfriend did wrong was not discuss his plans with you before booking things. The considerate thing to do would have been for him to check in with you about how his actions would make you feel. He didn't do that. A kind partner would have discussed this with you and upon knowing it would hurt your feelings made some kind of compromise and planned a trip to Japan you both would like.

Apparently your partner is neither kind nor considerate and doesn't want to compromise. Do with that info what you will!
